Flush maybe, but not his hardest shots. He used scoring blows, not damaging blows. Floyd doesn't sit on his punches because he's prepared to evade, which means being light on his feet, which means less power. Plus he has orthopedic gloves which I believe are softer than your average glove.

Stopped reading after your first sentence.Honestly. His whole defensive system is BUILT on avoiding looping shots.Seriously. There are tons of resources that you can validate that with. If you don't even know that then you haven't researched the sport.

The point is to roll off all those looping power shots. The effort it takes for someone to roll off a jab or a cross makes it vulnerable to straight punches. The basic logic being that power shots generally hurt more than jabs. It's called knowledge...once you get some, we can debate fights and styles.

No it's not. The shoulder roll is vunerable against the straight left and a looping overhand right the looping overhand right despite it being thrown orthodox is still dangerous because it can go over the shoulder and can still hit him in the temple.:deal Watch the Mosley fight that shot effected his balance PBF has a good chin so a straight left will not hurt him as much. The looping overhand right lands to the temple making it more dangerous.

I find that the most least knowledgeable boxing fans I meet are Pacquiao fans. It is like they just worship him and don't follow or know anything else about the sport. It is odd.

How is he supposed to take it away. He didn't take it away from Judah in 12 rounds?

He started ducking it a few times but if he does that against Pac is the Cotto fight all over again.

What happened to Cotto when he started ducking?

Do you remember which punch dropped him?

I'd like to see Marquez rematch a Mayweather who hadn't taken off 21 months before the matchup. Talk about a tune up fight, huh?

JMM is a funny guy, he got embarassed for the entire 12 rounds, looked like a slow plodder who couldn't do anything in there, and he got dropped from a jumping left hook that could've probably got him out of there if it connected a little more cleanly.

JMM shouldn't be saying anything about Floyd's power since he got the worst one sided beating of his career in that match. Total shutout.

He clearly lost the first round to Cotto and possibly the second , then he adapted and from the third onwards was completely dominant.

Was troubled early on by Barrera , adapted and from the 6th onward was on top.

Every fighter has a style which is their kryptonite. JMM's is his. This doesn't make him a fighter who cannot adapt.

Even if Floyd is able to take away Pac's left, he's still gonna have to deal with Pac's right hook which, IMO, will be the more damaging punch to Floyd in the early rounds.

Conversely, Floyd's lead left hook, if he throws it, I think will find a home against Pac early on.

Both guys, I think, will be mindful of the other's backhand straight punches leaving themselves exposed to be hit by each other's hooks.

Didn't Floyd smile at Marquez and then drop him seconds later with a left hook?

That was his way of telling Marquez, he was at Floyds mercy whenever.

15 months to adjust to Maidana ? It was Maidana camp who tried to make adjustments.

    1) Maidana tried out weighing floyd by 15 lb and using that weight to bully floyd against the ropes ..
Good plan but Maidana got tired !

    2) Second plan Come in a little lighter and try and out box Floyd.

End results Maidana was able to keep that up for 4 or 5 round before he started to eat Right hands again.

Floyd didn't have to make too many adjustment as did Maidana .. In case you missed he lost both times.
