Yes, Manny's speed of hand and foot should allow him to build up a lead (if not, he is almost certainly doomed). The question is, can Manny manipulate such an advantage into rounds won for a significant portion of the fight? And does he have a plan b, c, d for when Floyd makes the necessary adjustments?
So how many Southpaws have been able to break through Floyd's high guard and land punches on him consistently?
But Floyd has fought with the high guard before, on many occasions, with great success. Any way you look at your ahnalogy, it doesn't work. Try harder next time sport! :good :bbb
What adjustment? Floyd has done the same thing against every good southpaw he has faced pressure and win exchanges. Do you think that will work against Manny?
Just because he won the fight pressuring gassed fighters does not mean his high guard is any good. Watch the videos and tell me if Floyd has a even a good high guard.
I think this is what will determine the fight. If Floyd can measure and handle Manny's speed and aggression, then he will win a close UD. If Floyd can't, then I think Manny will win a wide UD. 5 years ago, Floyd wins a wide UD, and I'm pretty certain of that.
Everything!! Join us next week, when Lennox Lewis explains how playing cribbage and making his Mother's bed on a regular basis turned him into an ATG Heavyweight Champion.
We are talking about one of the best defensive fighters and tacticians of the past fifteen years, so yes, I do believe that Floyd's defence (poor high guard notwithstanding) will be good enough.
I see you have never either never watched a game of cricket or baseball of you think that base running amd scoring a run in cricket are equivalent.
