Was Maidana a better opponent than Bradley, Algieri, and Rios?

Agree with that. I think Marcos handles Rios quite easily.

He didn't have an easy time with Josesito or JSK...why would he have an easy time with Rios?

He's a better fighter today than he was then IMO and I've never particularly rated Brandon.

Why do you think he's better now?

Imo he loses to Bradley and Algerie but Rios/Maidana is a toss up.

I think he was just starting to implement Garcia's adjustments against JSK and he didn't look like he had taken Josesito as seriously in camp as he should have to me. Let's not forget he did stop both men.

Maybe I'm wrong, hopefully they'll fight and we find out. But starting with Broner he's been setting things up with that jab to the body a lot better.

I pick Maidana over Rios for the same reasons I picked Lucas over Ruslan. I think he has more to fall back on when they're not just brawling.

Honestly, I think Broner just sucks. Josesito and JSK are no good. Mayweather is old and Maidana had absolutely nothing to lose.

imo Maidana doesn't make the top 10 at 147. He hasn't beaten anyone rated. Would like to see him fight Thurman, Broner, Brook, rematch Khan, etc. Pacquiao would also be a great fight for him imo.

My point is Maidana is totally unproven and there's no reason to be extremely confident in his abilities until he proves them by beating some top 10 fighters in his weight class.

Makes sense and I'll Thurman, Brook and Khan again over him at 147 for sure. But Rios isn't exactly a giant killer at 147.

Well, Broner was rated and he called Brook out and we haven't heard a peep outta Brook. ( He knows ). He also called out Khan. Who has Thurman fought in the top ten? I won't even legitimize the remark about Mayweather being old because that don't hold water in relation to your argument. Maidana is a force in welterweight division and there is no way around it. He beats Rios, Algieri, and Bradley. IMO
