Ponomarev is a tough 22 year old kid with a lot of heart. He beat the only notable boxer from my home city, Steve Claggett, therefore I'm going to have to root for him . I believe hes the underdog, although I dont think Zewski has ever faced anyone of his level.

A good test for both guys.

no exactly, zewski has basiclly faced tomato cans for a while now, thouhg he has a good record...it seems to lack any note worthy fighters or even many fighters with good records..i like how zewski boxes, i think he has talent, but also think he has possibly been protected..but out the 2 guys zewski has a much higher ko rate....

will it be a competitive fight? or will one of the 2 really have the edge over the other?

I favor Kostya, as he does have some decent scalps/methods of victory considering the opponents.

There have just been too many warning signs regarding Zewski along the way, this is about the level where I've expected he would always get exposed.

Yup. He beat Claggett, dominated Naziev (tough Uzbek), shut out Cosme Rivera.

Honestly their resumes are debatable. Zewski just has more hype & visibility in the West.

then for me knowing more about zewski and having seen a few of his fights, that would make it an interesting close fight?

im gonna go youtube konstantin ponomarev right now, curious to how this fight should go....i have been getting tired of fights looking easy for zewski...its about time he steps up

I've tracked Zewski for a long time now and he kind of has Matvey Korobov syndrome (except he was never even ½ as good as Korobov) - came with high expectations, natural talent, and solid amateur credentials but has looked completely lackluster and uninspired in the pros and occasionally struggled with some pretty mediocre guys (while coasting against the rest, learning nothing on the job) while taking forever to step up in class.

its always nice when we got undefeated fighter, makes for a competitive match, in the sense that both guys will give it their all to not loose their zero...

i think zewski will win...just watched konstantin ponomarev vs clagget, and to be honest claggett seems to not have a very good defense, especially on his left side, he never blocks anything from the left side and his hand is always low as well...zewski has a good defense, im curious about his chin though...what i like about zewski is his crisp shots and combos, but i fear he has a weak chin...

Zewski will take it, he's so much better, I'm confident in this pick.

I like Ponomarev a lot but I thought he got hit way too often against Claggett who seemed to hurt him a few times and his stamina is that match I thought was shaky. Zewski is more experienced and hits harder and I think Bob putting Konstantin in there with Zewski could backfire the same way Benavidez vs Herrera did.

I've got money on Zewski. I think he'll be too big and too strong for Ponomarev who is still a boy.
