Will he rank above Floyd? And where will he be as an ATG?

Manny has beat up the same fighters more brutal and quicker than Mayweather. Except for JMM which I suppose can be explained by the styles make fights thing.

    What y'all think?

Well it won't do much as Floyd has cherrypicked slow flat footed bums his whole career while having every referee and judge in his pocket and is on steroids and has already lost to Castillo de la Hoya maidana almost got knocked out against Mosley and so on. Who wants a win over that guy?

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

Borderline top 10 ATG sounds about right. If Floyd wins, he's in the top 20, but not as high as Manny if he wins. Remember, legacy is not just about 1 fight, it's about an entire career.

Even if Pac loses this fight close, there is still a case he's the greater fighter of the 2 because of his overall accomplishments over 8 weight classes.

Probably a top 10 place all time, a Manny win over Floyd is bigger than Floyd win over Manny.

A win will do a lot for both fighters. Anyone denying this fact is a bumpkin.

    Due to resumes:

    Manny wins = top 10

    Floyd wins = top 15

Depends how he beats Floyd I would rate him higher. A trilogy of course will give us a better assessment. As of now I rate both equal based on different boxing attributes (maybe Floyd slightly higher as of now) . One is an intelligent and defensive master. The other a superfast offensive machine.

This win easily tops both fighter's lists as #1. This is not an ordinary win for either fight based on their abilities, styles, resumes and general recognition. Who else would rate above Pacquiao for Mayweather?. Even Morales, Barrera and Marquez can't topple Mayweather on Pacquiao's ATG resume. I'm sure many will disagree and understandably so, but that's just my personal view.

Pac just has a deeper resume / more fights. He's lost a few but so has everyone in the top 10.

A loss doesn't dismiss a fighter when it comes to my judgment, it's merely a tool to deceive the gullible among the fans. And yes, I do agree that Pacquiao has a deeper and better resume. He also achieved more in the sport.

    depends on how he wins.

also, he is the underdog, so if he wins, people will look at it better, sort of like the barrera fight.

if floyd wins, and especially by decision, people will say marquez already had the better win by knocking him out but it did not make him that high up the atg list. and floyd is favored to win, people will say it;s just a vaidation that he is supposed to be the winner.

floyd has everything to lose and little to gain.

It would be on the level of his MAB win. So it would be a huge deal.
