Things I've genuinely heard at the office this week...

"Manny just punches from so many angles"

"Floyd's never fought anyone with Manny's footwork. That could be the difference."

"Personally, I just think Mayweather is really good defensively"

"Manny's straight right is so good, he could knock Floyd down with it"

"Floyd's so much bigger though, did you know Manny started at 130 pounds???"

"Mayweather's good, but he's not unbeatable. Remember when he should have lost to De La Hoya? That was really controversial (almost certainly the last fight any of these people have seen)"

"I doubt Manny will win a decision in New York"

"I heard Skip Bayless say the other day that...:fy"

"It's a big event, but I doubt it will live up to the hype like Tyson-Lewis. These two are past their prime"

"I remember being ringside at Hagler/Hearns...(Apparently 50% of my coworkers were in press row that night)"

And of course...

"If you ask me, this fight is happening 5 years too late"

Should ask then what they thought about Mayweathers fight with Nikolay Valuev...if they pick up on what you say correct you're self with "I mean...the big show"

 

Cross my heart and hope to die. Said by a junior associate who works right outside my office. He's a really smart kid and he works really hard (a lot harder than I've been working since I joined this forum) but he's a real brown noser and as soon as he found out I like boxing he's been bombarding me with utter nonsense. I might have to fire him if he doesn't stop. Here's a few more of his non Manny/Floyd related classics...

"De La Hoya was just never that good in my opinion. He had so much hype. I think that's why he got that decision over Trinidad"

"Lennox Lewis was good, but he just ducked too many top guys for my liking"

"Klitschko is good but he's too boring for me. It's just jab, jab, jab. He doesn't get enough knockouts"

It's the MOST regurgitated bunch of cliches with a little bit of lost in translation thrown in.

If it goes to decision I can guarantee you every single person's scorecard will be eerily similar to whatever Lederman/Farhood has.

Well I have been out on medical leave but when out I have heard all kinds of crazy talk as well.

A local DJ on the radio said this will be the biggest fight since Buster & Tyson.....WTF is wrong with people

Personally, I just think Mayweather is really good defensively too :smooch But if someone asked me why, I wouldn't say "ummm....errr....he just never gets hit. STEPHEN A SAID SO, OK!!!!" which is as much as I got out of the buffoons at my office :nut
