He's on a different level than Marquez. But due to their styles (the only thing Marquez and Floyd got in common in the counterpunching) I expect a Pacquiao SD based on pure workrate and footwork

It depends on how many he can land. He'll land but Pac won't be in one place for long and will be throwing constantly from all angles

Spot on. The Diaz and Katsidis fights are textbook examples of that

Marquez is one of the greatest in fighters in recent memory

    Floyd..... is not

Yeah but that's also because JMM is willing to risk more than Floyd. I'm thinking Floyd's lack of workrate will end up costing him the fight

Um yeah, he's clearly not Marquez considering Floyd beat the stuffing out of him for 12 rounds landing 60% of his punches while Marquez landed 12%.:lol:

Floyd's defense and sharp counters will keep Manny honest and slow down the pace. Roughing Manny up in the clinch will help as well.

As IB mentioned in his breakdown, employing a stiff jab will be a key also.

The jab will help contol distance and disquise the right hand.

Rounds where Floyd languishes on the ropes or gets caught in exhanges will likely go to Manny. In that sense, especially, he ain't no Marquez. Marquez routinely engages in and takes risks to deliver his power. And he does not lay on the ropes.
