I'm not a fan of either but I love the sport of boxing. I understand the jubilation over May winning but c'mon he just ran around for 12 rounds and didn't lose. He definitely did not dominate that fight as he should have.

It's like a generation of trolls here, Mayweather barely won. Outclassed Pac? Really? He just ran around and countered him. I understand the point of boxing is to hit and not get hit, but at no point in the fight have any of mayweather's last 4 opponents looked in trouble in the slightest bit.

If this fight took place 15 years ago, Mayweather wouldn't be allowed back on television but because you guys are a soft generation you're gonna call this a dominating performance? :patsch

Remember the days of Hagler and Hearns destroying opponents? Or Tyson putting his fist through a guy head? I guess its just a different era of soft fans and fighters. Manny was underwhelming as well.

The thing is, Mayweather was impressive when he knocked out Hatton. Mayweather at times is very impressive, however in this fight he wasn't really that impressive. If these guys fought 10 times, each probably wins 5 times. Floyd just BS's his way to decisions, and tonight was no different.

So you're upset because Floyd, a man who isn't a power puncher, didn't destroy a guy the way Hagler, Hearns and Tyson, all legendary power punchers, did in the 80's?

You seem confused friend. The problem isn't with people saying that this was a dominant performance, because it was. Go back to the funeral home grandpa, tell me more about the good old days of boxing, when men were men and the blacks fought like animals. Cry me a river.

Some boxing purists just appreciate the art of a defensive genius.

He just beat the next best thing decisively. Give credit where credit is due. He may not be knocking people out, but he's clearly outboxing each elite comp he's had.

Pacquiao isn't a cake walk either. Look at the faces of the fighters that Pacquiao has fought.

You don't love **** except KO artist. A real boxing fan would ****yze what physical gifts each fighter brings into the ring. Floyd is what he is at WW and it was Manny's job to get him out of his comfort zone. Manny had to go for broke and press the action for a full 12 rounds and he couldn't. Floyd was just better. Deal with it.

I know huh? Mayweather didn't even look like he was trying. Maidana was a better fight. I can't believe Floyd got paid for a sparring session.

I wasn't that impressed with Floyd. He could have tried a little more and shut this clown down for good. Floyd only brought his B-game.

He's a great defensive fighter, and points fighter, sure. But when he compares himself to SRR and fights like a ballerina, he deserves to be **** on big time.

One guy got sent to the rope reeling at least twice and shelled up , not much else happened to tweve rounds . but one guy dominated and it was the guy that was goning backwards for 25% of the fight and never hurt the other guy, but dominated ?? WTF is wrong with boxing ??

It was a close fight either way , don't in the fu** know how Manny was dominated??

The issue is that this was once a combat sport, and it is now becoming more akin to the amateur version, a kind of pillow fencing.

The macho type fighters that once dominated the landscape are still out there leading with their faces, putting unwitting victims to sleep. However, they are dinosaurs. They are involved in a different sport from the one they imagined when they started.

The idea of sport as entertainment is anathema to those that now define the parameters of many sports - boxing is only one of many. Health concerns and politics will will probably force boxing to become a sterile, risk-averse parody of itself, with none of it's brutal roots on show.

Floyd Mayweather is probably the best boxer alive, but that's more indicative of what the sport is becoming than anything else.

There's nothing impressive with a bigger guy running and hugging for 80% of the fight.
