Floyd's fights against Maidana and Cotto were more competitive.

I agree Floyd outclassed Maidana the second time, but there were a few moments that Maidana had Floyd on dream street. (like at the end of the round where Floyd was all rubbery legged)

Canelo...well we've "been there done that". The decision was a majority decision, and Floyd needed a catch weight to drain Canelo financially. In no way is that out-classing. Floyd outclassed Maidana after those rough moments in their 2nd fight. Canelo - Floyd was a basically a draw aside from ONE round that Floyd won big. Be real, I am trying to be unbiased and fair here.

 

Floyd vs Canelo was more one sided than any of the fights mentioned. Canelo didn't deserve to win a single round. Floyd dominated that fight.

I have stated that one could argue that fight was 11 even rounds and 1 round that Floyd dominated.

Floyd dominanted one round (the 7th IIRC) all the other rounds were pretty much even? Can we agree to that? 11 rounds being even is not dominant.

 

The fight was close. That fight is really hard to make anything of because Canelo was drained to 152. It affected his performance. Even if you argue that Floyd dominated, still it was hardly out-classing since dude needed a freakin catchweight. We've been over this at length, though, and I really don't think it is worth re-hashing now, but have at it if you want.

 

But they weren't even rounds, Floyd won them. You and Canelo's family must be the only people who don't think Floyd won those rounds. Floyd schooled him.

 

I agree 100% The Cotto fight was the closest to me. Cotto looked great, Mayweather took too much time off but still won 7-5 CLEAR.

Maidana 1 was close-ish also with Maidans looking his best, Mayweather spending too much time on the ropes. 8-4 Floyd (maybe 7-5 but no closer)

Pac looked terrible overall. He won 2 rounds for sure, 3 rounds maybe and 4 rounds absolutely TOPS (not really sure how though).

I saw this coming after rewatching Pac-Bradley 2. Pac is just lame these days. Doesn't throw enough, lots of arm punches, no commitment. Laughable.

Floyd should fight Cotto again and retire the lineal MW champ. Easy money, all the glory. Or not retire and fight GGG after Cotto for his 50th fight (but I doubt he will).

 

Floyd didn't really stay a lot on the ropes. As soon as he's back is on the ropes he moves away. He learned after getting bombarded when he shelled up in his high guard.

 

What did Floyd do though? Did he ever really hurt Canelo? It was a chess match kinda fight, where both guys were trying to out-think each other.

I'm not arguing Canelo won, just that it clearly wasn't a domination like Floyd Guerrero or the final 10 rounds of Floyd Mosley. (and Canelo was drained due to Floyd needing a catch weight)
