Does anybody know if the Margo-Cotto fight is sign

Its not signed yet.

 

Probably a matter of time, fixing the venue, the gloves ect...And Arum wants Margarito to vacate his belt so Clottey can fight Berto for the vacant IBF stap.

Arum wanted the fight in Vegas and for that the Nevada State Athletic Comission needed to allow them to fight with 8oz gloves which they did this week so its probably only a matter of days before the fight is signed.

 

Cotto will sign it next week

 

i've read on sky text that it's on in june (23rd if i remember right). cintron is picking margarito to win. this will be the fight of the year.

 

Cintron is probably punchy with the beating Margarito gave him.

Miguel Cotto está cerca de firmar el contrato que lo comprometerá a defender el cetro wélter (147 libras) de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB) contra Antonio Margarito el 26 de julio en Las Vegas.

Sólo falta afinar unos detalles menores.

“Estamos negociando todavía. Se hicieron grandes avances en las reuniones que tuvimos en Las Vegas con Bob Arum, pero todavía hay que acordar unos puntos. Nos hemos aguantado un poco, pero tenemos suficiente tiempo”, explicó Miguel Cotto, padre, ayer a PRIMERA HORA.

“En la parte monetaria estamos claros, así que eso no debe ser motivo de tranque, es cuestión de detallar las cosas que nosotros queremos después de superar ciertos números”, agregó Cotto, padre.

Asimismo, comentó que confía en tener los documentos firmados para la segunda semana de mayo, justo para cuando el púgil criollo inicie su preparación de cara al duelo ante Margarito.



There just a few details pending before signing. It should signed by the second wk of may. I read somewhere Cotto asked for more than 5 million (his biggest payday yet). They will be using 8oz gloves.

 

Good link WILLNAV, funny how at the end of that commentary it say, ...he'll start his preparations to face the pain of Margarito. But they do need to get on with signing the documents needed to make this fight happen. Margo has been done his part, no questions asked.

Cotto is going to give Margarito the beating of his life. Antonio will not be mentioned in the same sentence as Miguel after July 26. You are what your record say's you are nothing more. This will definitely be another lost for the Mexican over hyped WW. Cotto is a very smart fighter with way more boxing skills than Antonio.
