Bigger Disappointment. Tyson's performance against Lewis or Pacquiao's against Money

I remember being utterly upset and disappointed to see my favourite fighter being so humiliated that day in 2002. Pacquiao's performance and utterly pathetic game plan today has just bought back that gloomy phase and feeling.

Even though i hate Floyd's utterly boring and defensive style but 48-0 is not a joke. Remember this was a very high pressure match for him and he had more to lose. The fact he makes his style work for him has to be admired, keeping aside how he lives his private life separate.

Another observation. I don't think Pacquiao's conditioning was that good either. He looked out of gas by round 6. His work rate and foot work was very poor, Floyd's footwork was much better. That was the major difference.

He talked too much and didn't deliver on the day. Not sure how this defeat will affect Manny's standing and legacy.

 

Tysons best round was the first round, and even then when Lewis landed that upper cut, Tyson just gave up after that. All the other rounds was Lewis comfortably.

 

It's debatable. Tyson still tried charging at Lewis, eating jabs and right hands from a murderous puncher like lewis. Now floyd is not a big puncher, it is bizarre that pacquiao didn't have the ***** to charge at money and risk being countered but atleast getting his own shots in. Disastrous game plan.

 

The real question is who was more shot. Was Tyson more shot when he met Lewis or Pacquiao more shot against money?

I think both fighters in today's match were obviously past their best years but Pacquiao was not as shot as Tyson was in 2002. Pacquiao should have shown more bravery against Floyd especially given that the later is not known for being a power puncher.

 

I think that Rehman knock out of Lewis raised some high hopes of Tyson getting a lucky punch in. Tyson did well to sell that fight with his out of control antics as well.
