by outclassing you mean throwing pitty pat punches on pac;'s gloves and the judges happily scoring them? then yes.

running is both literal and symbolic in this fight, at least to me.

if someone threatened you and challenged you to a fight.
then you jst sit there and do nothing.

it's safe to say you ran from the fight.


floyd ceding ground and distance everytime pac tried to engage until floyd cant cede anymore distance or ground and got cornered.

floyd avoided confrontation and exchanges by simply clinching or moving away. it was symbolic of running, more funnily so bec he was to be bigger, stronger, faster boxer. this guy was supposed to bully the diminished, weakened midget. didnt happen.

at times, floyd literally ran. prolly faster than usain bolt.

 

re-watching the fight, Mayweather shouldn't have won like he did. Pac had the best moments, was taking the risks and chasing Floyd. The scoring system is horrible. Floyd wins by doing NOTHING. He the master of winning via inactivity. How many rounds did Floyd not land any punch worth talking about yet judges gave it to him? These should 've all went to Pacquiao, all of them.

Mosely had fight 7-5, judges should've have been a lot harsher on Floyd and not let him getting away with winning rounds by landing soft jabs... the opponent trying to make the fight should win, every time.

 

if Cotto beats Canelo and Mayweather or Golovkin then Roach will be viewed as a great trainer again ha ha

But yeah, didn't deliver here at all

 

Why people would pay 100 dollars to see a boxing match when you can watch any other sport for free is beyond me.

Great post TS. It is strange the judges in Mayweather's fights give him extra credit for just being negative, when the norm is to give the edge in close rounds to the guy taking the risks and making the fight.

 

Roach looks a lot worse now, his health is bad, I feel sorry for him

 

the blue print was there. a diminish pacman still delivered, not as his vintage domninant self. could have been better but still did enough.

i think roach expected floyd will run, what he didnt expect was how fast when floyd literally ran.

 

yeah not sure if it will happen but I'm saying if it does happen Roach will get a lot of credit even if he doesn't really deserve it

but in the past, the runner got penalized. Look at the DLH vs Trinidad, and Chavez vs Whittaker. Back then, they claim DLH and Pernell got robbed but the aggressor was given the rounds.

Floyd wins way too many rounds by doing nothing. He has perfected the art of winning rounds without throwing many punches, landing a few soft jabs and making the aggressor look inadequate by ruing his movement. It's almost like judges think 'Well, no-one landed but Floyd looked good moving and opponent looked bad trying to chase him, this one goes to Floyd' This is terrible logic, it should always be 'Well, no-on landed but the aggressor was trying to make the fight and Floyd running, this one goes to opponent'

 

Watch the fight again.

There are so many occassions where Floyd is literally standing in front of Manny and Manny doesn't move forward. Heck one of those combos where he landed a few on the ropes he then backed up to the centre of the ring and did nothing while Floyd stayed at the ropes.
