Didn't Cotto and Hatton turn down the idea of fighting Floyd back when he dominated Gatti?

Nobody wanted Floyd at 140 after what he did to Gatti. Legitimately told "not ready" by the other fighter's camps. And I would remind people, Gatti was ducking Floyd which forced him to fight those eliminator bouts to make himself the mandatory for Gatti's belt. Gatti had to take the Floyd fight or he was going to be stripped of his title.

135 he took on the Lineal champion on his first fight. Defended it a few times and move up.

Cotto & hatton were at ringside when he fought Gatti. They wanted none of it

And Paulie Spadafora, the unbeaten I.B.F. Lightweight beltholder to Floyds' W.B.C./Ring Magazine World Lightweight title who bested Floyd in a sparring seesion not too long before that and was offered the most money of any Floyd Mayweather Jr, opponent at the time, also wanted no part of Floyd.

Both Cotto and Hatton's people openly turned down the fights. They weren't ready.
