Right, so in the event that the two best fighters of the era actually fighting, their aggregate all-time rank has actually decreased. May got no reward and Pacquaio was punished for losing a fight he was the underdog in anyway.

I think #25 is fair for Floyd. I can't claim to have a thorough understanding of the whole history of boxing so anywhere from #50-#5 is probably fair depending on one's criteria. #25 seems perfectly fine.

Boxing_Master I am a huge Pacquiao fan but he got outfoxed and flummoxed by Mayweather, who has a documented history of terrible hand problems, Pacquiao's shoulder clearly wasn't bad enough to stop him throwing vicious right hands (remember Berto, Vitali and Lacy's rotator cuff injuries as another poster said? They visibly were stopped in their tracks). Mayweather had a similar injury against Castillo yet still fought on and got beat imo. And he didn't just get beat because he was carrying an injury, Castillo had the tools to cause him issues just like Maidana, where he was fully fit. There's degrees to it. Pacman's strategy was atrocious and naive, he couldn't figure out his distance or get past Floyd's jab. The shoulder played a role but I swear it would make no difference with the approach they had. He has the tools to beat Floyd, just as Floyd has the tools to beat Pacquiao, whoever executes their strengths the superior way. Fine margins, which is why I expected a close fight with Mayweather sweating it out in the trenches.

Roach has mentioned the shoulder seemed injured a few weeks ago, they didn't disclose it because they saw a physician who said it could heal on its own, and he said he monitored Manny closely in the gym in the subsequent weeks and was impressed by his training, to the point where he felt the shoulder injury was fully healed.

I don't know, when I compare his injury to Andre Berto in the Soto Karass fight, it didn't look that bad. Berto tore his rotator cuff in the 2nd round, you could see his right arm dangling very low by his side, and he STOPPED throwing his right hand altogether for the remainder of the fight. people can criticize Berto, but he showed a heart of a true champion that night. Anyway, there's different levels of how much you can tear a muscle, so I assume Berto's injury was MUCH worse than Manny's based off in ring performances.

i wish Pacman a full recovery, but I still give Floyd Mayweather full credit for his terrific win, in the same manner I give JLC credit for making it a tough fight with with FLoyd in their first match when Mayweather tore his rotator cuff.

What is a FACT is Manny is a Liar. He is either lying now or he was lying when he did not disclose his so called injury when signed the health disclosure questionaire.

Now, he may have injured himself as Floyd punched him on his chest and his shoulder. Unless, there are MRI scans from before the fight that show his injury, he certainly was injured by Mayweather's punches.

Either way Manny is a lying politician and anything he says as an excuse for the loss just shows he was lying one way or another.

Of course there was no injury everyone knows it!!!
Its just the loosing side grasping at straws and they will continue to do so regardless.
Its not like they can argue that the fight was close enough that they were robbed or even should of got a draw at least... because it was so one-sided, so instead they are s****ing the barrel for something.

Pacquiao lost points because it was supposed to be more competitive. A concrete example is I had Whittaker at 27 below Pacquiao. Whittaker never lost decisively like that to equal competition so I moved him ahead of Pacquiao. Like you said, Top 50 is a high honor.

Pac has absolutely ruined himself here. He should of took the loss and moved on, Floyd beat him so easily he probably could of got a rematch at some point because Floyd knows he's no threat but now he's probably blown that chance and made himself look like an idiot along the way

"I thought I won the fight" - then he lets out a small laugh/giggle and looks right at Kellerman almost nervously.

Now, I know he laughs and smiles a lot in general, but that seemed more like "What am I saying here? I'll say I won for the heck of it."

Maybe he was coached into saying he won if he did lose. Was anyone convinced by Manny's tone?

What's funny is if Floyd lost because he tried walking Pacquiao down and his brittle hands affected his ability to throw harder shots whilst in the trenches, the Pacman fanboys would say excuses excuses he was still throwing shots and other boxers have found a way with hand issues. I would say it was his ridiculous strategy and inability to keep Pacquiao off him before the hand problems just like it was Pacquiao's ridiculous strategy and inability to get past the jab and fight at his preferred mid-range.

My point is, when you have something of this magnitude on the cards it's going to be extremely difficult to postpone, due to many reasons including contracts, clauses between a multitude of parties and due to other reasons already stated in this thread. Even if he did want to pull out, i'm pretty sure he'd have faced almighty pressure from multiple angles to go ahead with the fight. Imo, anyway.

I'm not. I had this fight pegged as a fraud. Learned years ago not to waste my time or money on Floyd fights. Hope everybody who bought into it learned a lesson. Now there is some good stuff coming up, starting with Canelo-Kirkland on saturday. Probably be more action in the 1st round of this on than in the entire Floyd-Pac "fight"
