Manny shoulder injury: interesting take.

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Repairmanbanjam, May 6, 2015.

  1. What's the legitimacy of the Manny vs Floyd stats

    BC according to them

Myth: Manny hurt his shoulder somewhere in opening 3 rounds.

"Fact": PACs output increased, overall, after supposed injury.

Question: power punches = what exactly? I ant info on right hooks thrown by PAC.

How legite is compbox? Newb here

First fight was worth half a billion dollars, and that's worth saying whatever needs to be said for a rematch.

Yup. If people think he wasn't fully fit, they'll pay to watch a rematch thinking he'll do better. Of course they both want the rematch, there's too much money to turn down. Floyd will beat Pac again to hit 50-0.

  6. Sorry I can't posts links. It was a site that showed punch stats by round

Not true at all. Pac's output dropped by like 10 punches after the 6th rd, and that's very significant...because he'll usually increase his work rate by 14 punches after round 6.

Still, I don't take much stock into compubox. Two men pressing buttons, trying to count the punches. Like come on. Humans make mistakes, and in a fight like that, I'm sure it was wrong.

You didn't need to look at compubox. Floyd schooled Manny in the eyes of most people who know boxing. Then the are the Skip Bayless', Tysons, boxing_masters of the world who hated Floyd before the fight ...

When it comes to the media personalities you can really tell the one's who tell it like it is from the one's who are just true haters.

Jim Lampley is no fan of Floyd at all but he at least was honest about what he saw happen in the ring. On First Take today Skip Bayless said he'd pay a $200 dollar PPV price to see a rematch because he felt it was a robbery. I mean damn!:patsch The man hates Floyd that much!

That may be true for Pac normal fights as he breaks most of his opponent down allowing him to increase his output but with Floyd his output would drop as Floyd gets better at timing with the counters making people more gun shy.

BTW from what I gather, compubox power punches = punches that aren't jabs. Nothing to do with actual power put into the punch.

Human pushing buttons, big margins of error not even mentioning counting blocked shots and stuff.
