Crazy talk! Floyd's probably SALIVATING at the prospects of getting another Pacquiao fight and hoping they can convince the public to buy it again. It will be even easier work for Floyd next time around. No shoulder surgery is going to help Pac's feet suddenly become faster, and his footspeed (compared to Floyd's) was nothing short of atrocious. :smoke
You're right man. He used my exact technique for avoiding people I'm scared of too, spend 36 minutes in a ring with them where it's legal to hit each other. You're very observant.
Well if FLoyd decides to give him a rematch, he's really going to milk this and I don't blame him. I'd force Pacman to a 75/25 split. Even 25% is more than what he'd see taking on anyone else at 147 or 140 (where he'd receive the lion's share with pretty much anyone else.) The flipside to all this is, a lot of people were turned off by the first fight. It's hard to estimate how well the PPV #'s would be in the rematch, but I don't think it would come close to half of what this one received.
That is too much money to turn down. Rematch has to happen next year for Money, as it will still do about 2.5-3 mill buys.
I just saw it on yahoo. It's a projection based on something like 2.25 million buys, with the rest of the uncounted portion coming from sources that usually make up 60% of all PPV sales. So it's assuming the other will come from that past projection.
Just goes to show how much people want top notch boxing. Still can't believe all the people willing to pay to see Floyd after all his boring fights, but they do, so that is good for boxing. 5.6 million is just crazy.
They'll do max 2.5 next time round, which is still great. The casual customer won't be fooled again, especially given how the whole buildup will be around the shoulder, which will basically remind people that they were lied to the last time and it may happen again. I can already see it now: #MayPac 3: The Shoulder Is Definitely Fixed This Time
Wait so if this estimate turns out to be true, what will the two fighters take home? That is an incredible number.
If true that shows 2 things. How many people fallow the media and can be persuaded to buy something they are genuinely interested in. Also shows how many hardcore fans were boycotting the PAC and mays previous ppvs
