As a huge carl froch fan I can say im dissapointed in the end of his career

I agree i want him to push for ward, there plenty of fights out there that Id watch with him either way.

 

pretty much the standard operating procedure for guys that had stellar resumes.....
look at cotto sitting around a year and fighting a guy who lost 2 of his last 4 in geale.... when he should be unifying the title at the very least
in a way they earned it, but doesnt make it right or less sucky

 

I think Froch is basically all but retired. He's simply having issues with actually pulling the trigger and ending what has defined him for most of his life. He had hoped for an easy payday to end it where he wouldn't need to show up 100% but it seems that won't happen now.

It isn't the perfect end to his career but I think most fighters final year or so tends to be an inevitable let down. Look at Vitali, he held on for dear life to the WBC title, messing Stiverne around for over a year before admitting to himself he had to quit and even then he didn't actually retire officially he just vacated. Lewis did the same waiting for an easy rematch with Tyson before retiring. Hamed also retired with a whimper not a bang having lost to Barrera and then winning an uninspiring decision in his final fight.

Most fighters end their careers with a string of past prime defeats, very few end it on a high so how Froch has ended his career while disappointing could have been far worse.

 

Froch is defnitely a hall of famer not an ATG obviously.

 

I would have loved it if he had fought GGG, but after a year out i'm not so sure now.

 

this thread its way stupid!! Im not a fan of froch, i dont like him and i hate his fans, but i know he had fought the best! he is a warrior and i respect that

 

Froch is past his prime and has nothing to prove. He actually improved after his loss to Ward and questionable win over Dirrell. Dirrell and Froch had a score to settle shoulda rematched. Might be too late now, but I think regardless who he fights, Froch will put asses in seats. He's still better than most 168lbers, but if he wants to hangem up now should be the time unless he knows for sure he has enough for one more. You never know, he might save the best for last.

 

Froch would destroy Degale ,,it would be going backwards for Froch .

I would agree however that 12 months out of the ring or even out of any occupation is a long time .

 

I thought Froch was injured and that is why he has not fought or planned any fights.
