Wtf....why is gomez vs soto cancelled

    Gomez did that **** on purpose to get an advantage and it backfired. Soto is still fairly formidable. It is a very cheap way to try to get a win over a cagey veteran, come in real heavy, hoping the fight still goes on. Glad it got cancelled.

    Wait, but Soto didn't even make 140... but damn.. Gomez missed weight by an entire division.. WTF... stupid.

    Gomez was supposedly ill and up to 16 pounds overweight coming into the week. Soto was willing to fight at 145, but also demanded a Saturday weigh-in so Gomez wouldn't have too big an advantage.

    Gomez, realizing he would likely lose his purse, be unable to make weight, and not win the fight, probably was wise to cancel.

    It'll be interesting to see if Gomez gets another shot. A slot after the May/Pac replay and before Canelo/Kirkland would be great exposure. Now he's probably back on FS1 or HBO Latino.
