Wlad struggled against Jennings. Jennings isn't any better than Algieri, or Rios. If Pac lost 3-5 rounds against Algieri, or Rios then you might have an argument. Pac is #2.

Floyd yes Vladimir no. Both have found a style that seems very difficult to beat and are sticking to it and wont change. Cant blame them.

Obviously Vlad has dominated his division but its not a good division at all. Looking at it as a P4P point of view Floyds skills as a boxer would transcend the divisions i dont think Vlads would what he does is very basic but against average opposition or opponants he has a good size advantage over it works.

But thats just my perception of P4P, its a matter of opinion.

 

Put them in a ring together to see who is best. We can all have a good laff when the little dirtball Floyd is sent into the third row of the crowd with Drago Klitschko lauding his victory.

Klitschko is the #1 fighter on the planet, if you think otherwise, send your guy into the ring with him and see how he fares.

 

Klitschko relies so heavily on his physical advantage of height/reach though. It's hard to consider him a P4P boxer because as great as he is at utilising his advantages, if he was 6'0, he wouldn't be winning fights at HW.

 

it is a myth that wladimir only wins because of his physical attributes. he is very technically sound, has a gold medal with very good amateur career.

You mistake my point.

Wladimir Klitschko is a very astute, intelligent boxer with a great gameplan and very good fundamentals. He has a razor sharp jab, a great right hand and when he remembers to throw it, a very decent left hook.

I'd put him in my Top 10 P4P, and I rank him very highly all time at HW, but a lot of that comes down to the fact that he has physical advantages over most of his opponents.

The other physical advantage Wlad (and Vitali) had, was their agility and balance for their size. They move a lot quicker and with a lot more poise than anyone else their size/weight. That's a big reason why they easily beat other big fighters.

But to say technically he's a great fighter? He's nearer the Joshua Clottey level than he is the Sugar Shane Mosley level.

 

Yes he would be, you take 6 inches off Floyd and he never goes above 122, dominates everyone down there. Floyd's also faced a lot of fighters bigger than he is and not had issues with it.

Wladimir at 6'0 with his build would still be near HW. Wladimir doesn't use lateral movement much, he goes straight back and can afford to because he's so much taller and has more reachn than most opponents.

Also, Wladimir panics under fire, all of his losses came because he panicked after being hit once.
