No, but he wouldn't weigh 147 if he was 6 inches shorter.\

Wladimir is 80.4 inches tall, he weighs 245 - i.e 3.04lbs per inch. Subtract the 3 lbs per inch that Wlad weighs in at and get him down at 6'0 and he's still 227 lbs.

Put another way, if Floyd transferred his technique and skills to a 6'6, 245lb frame, do you think he'd ever have lost?

No he wouldn't, not with his build and power ratio.

He's not a great technical fighter, he's good, but not great. What makes him great is his physical gifts of raw power, height and reach. If you're arguing that fact, you're a ****ing numpty.

PS... Mohammad Ali was also not a great technical fighter compared to others of his era, he was taller than most, and a lot faster than most on his feet.

HW fighters by the very definition very rarely compete with the lower weight classes in terms of overall skill. 140-175 generally where the best technicians have always resided.

heavyweight is harder, if he has a weight class a few pounds under like the lower ones he'd still dominate.
mayweather normally has a height and reach advantage

    Mayweather was shorter than

Alvarez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, Corrales, Hernandez, De La Hoya.

He has reach on his side, sure - but then most "great" fighters had greater than usual reach - Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Ray Robinson, Mohammad Ali, Thomas Hearns, etc.

Considering Mayweather is a counter-puncher utilising the philly shoulder roll, rather than a textbook jab and cross fighter, his reach only matters because of how insanely good his range control and footwork is.

Not worth the argument. Wladimir isn't #2 in the world based on technical skills and pound for pound ability.

Look at Wlad's build and shoulder size, he's a big guy with big power. He has massive tree trunks, he's not quite Tyson or Tua-esque... but he has a very similar build to Evander Holyfield when he was a HW at 6'1.

No way to rank Wlad above Gonzalez.

Jeff Lacy at 5'11 and 168lbs looked like a mini Tyson except where it mattered, in the legs and trunk.

Look at Wlad's legs, he's a huge athlete, he's been 245lbs pretty much since he was 20-22. He's not a guy who is "small", that's why he's never looked like a tall lean beanpole, he's not got the lankiness that Vitali has, for instance.

hernadez de la hoya and corrales ilgive you but to me he looked taller than mosley cotto ortiz alvarez theres nothing between them height wise and then he has a bigger reach than most of them. Yeah he clearly doesnt have the same moves but its rare for bigger men to be as skillfull as smaller men but heavyweight is the harder division. Im just saying his reach and his height are big parts of his fighting style take them away and hes not as good.

being big in boxing these days is like a bad thing , having that skill at that size is rare. He is the best fighter in the world, having that size advantage is just like being born with speed or skill but no fighter from any weight class can beat wlad so hes the best.

The problem is he doesn't have the "skill" - show me a fight where Wlad has gone on the inside, or busted someone to the body before taking out the head, or used lead right hand counters.

Wlad is a textbook jab, jab, right, jab, jab, jab, right, jab, right, left hook, jab jab jab boxer. He does it very well, but he doesn't have a Plan B.

Vitali showed more abilities on the inside and a much more awkward punching style, and in all honesty, while Wlad has had the better career, Vitali would've knocked his young brother out at any point in time, yet you'd never see Vitali given credit for his boxing technique.

Wlad is a great fighter, but he's not required to be good on the inside, or good at combination punching, or good to the body, because his jab at that reach and height, combined with his power and ring IQ is good enough that he doesn't need talent anywhere else.

You don't seem to get the point of P4P - which is the whole ideal of "If these guys were the same size, who would win" - the whole reason P4P exists is because naturally, the HW champion of the world would/should always beat anyone in any other weight class, especially when LHW was the next rank down.

And the idea that you're schooling me because you don't seem to get the fact that Wlad is a solid guy which is also part of the reason he has the power he has, just means you're beyond any ****ing help.

Wlad is great at Plan A. Not so great at Plan B. If you don't understand that, maybe you need to go back to school.

listen at 28:55 for Manny stewards orgasm at wlads left hook. he was commentating this fight and said that wlads right hand was the most beautiful punch he's ever seen, even better than Lennox who he was still training at the time.

“He is the most powerful natural talent I have worked with. In terms of jab, Wladimir is the best and after him I would put Lennox.

“Lewis was a more versatile fighter but in terms of boxing ****nal, Wladimir is better.”

    -Emanuel Steward
