So many of us have been licking our lips since this fight was signed. But honestly...I have seen Kirkland wobbled, hurt and dropped by fighters with far less power and far less skill than Canelo. I don't think this will be a competitive fight...AT ALL!!! Canelo by domination within 3 rounds. But with that being said, if somehow, Kirkland survives the early combinations from Canelo and makes it past 6, Kirkland does seem to get stronger later in fights...it could get interesting. But if I was a betting man....CANELO BY EASY, DOMINATING AND FANTASTIC STOPPAGE, EARLY!!!
I think people are underestimating Kirkland's resilience and overestimating Canelo's power (again). Other than the Ishida fight, when has anyone ever steamrolled Kirkland? The only question mark is how much the inactivity and not having Mann Wolfe in his corner will affect him mentally/physically. If Canelo doesn't have Kirkland out of there by the 6th, he's in trouble IMO.
The present kirkland who will be drained and too inactive will get battered. Couple years a go it would have been a closer good fight. Kirkland has a punchers chance thats it imo. Canelo is not a big puncher some make out. He has decent pop but is no power puncher so kirkland may be around till the 8 taking career destroying punishment
Mandingo is going to be forced to look for openings via the counter if he's going to land solidly that being said his best chance at winning rounds would be to force canelo on the back foot. Needless to say it's going to be a tall task for Kirkland.
I GUARANTEE you he will put Canelo on the back foot. The only question is, will he be effective at it.
Yeah apart from getting hes face smashed in, knocked out he looked great. Truley superb performnce of Kirkland showing that you don't need a defense to block punches, you just block them with your fragile glass jaw repedetly until the opponent eventually runs out of gas.
