Yea. When you watched Morales you could see the perfect technique. No wasted movement. Just efficiency and accuracy. canelo sometimes looks like he's winging it.
I don't think he can reach that level of greatness but he can be a huge star and a hall of fame fighter. Can't wait for Canelo vs Cotto
I think he's needs to work on the technical aspect. Not saying he's terrible in that regard, just seems a bit raw at times. BUT he's young, willing to learn, willing to test himself and has good power and speed. I do think he can be a great. Julio Cesar Chavez great? Well no but then no mexican boxer ever will. Instead Canelo will be great in his own way.
Beating a war torn and older cotto isn't going to put you up there with MAB and EM. let's remember 26 year old pacquiao was defeated by Morales. And MAB took Hamed to school and got the better or MORALES.
I don't see how beating an old and battered cotto will put him up there with the great mexicans. Have you seen the resumes of those guys? Cotto isn't going to cut it.
That has nothing to do with what I posted. I personally don't think he'll reach that level of greatness but he's still learning so who knows. What he's accomplished already is at least comparable to what both MAB and El Terrible had accomplished at the same age.
He is good but not near their level, he is a good offensive fighter but he needs several more good fights to start seeming like a great fighter
Canelo takes so much punishment that he'll be out of the sport by the age of 30. Just another Vargas/Tito Trinidad.
