Well it'd be a good start to come under some consensus of what makes an ATG.

Top 50 IMO. Feels like the right number, top 100 is too much, with top 20 on the other hand, great number of fighters deserving of the title wouldn't make it.

A shot 'Zaggers came up in weight, to a prime Hopkins back garden, with broken hands and beat him and Joe Cortez in a hanidcap match.

    Zaggers > Hopkins

Both terms are frequently misused towards both extremes. For instance, I laugh every time I see someone berating a fighter as "unworthy of the HOF", as if the IBHOF was somehow on par with Cooperstown.

People seem to think it's the Hall Of Resumes, not the Hall Of Fame. So basically it means it's a popularity contest.

Yep! And really, it pains me to say this, but the actual venue of the Hall of Fame is a complete joke. The one time I visited, there was nobody there aside from me and 2 friends. The displays and memorabilia are mediocrities. (I have literally seen personal collections far more impressive).

They have one big weekend every year, and that's their induction weekend where they typically get a few thousand in attendance.

The IBHOF is not a legit museum in the sense of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

    I usually class it

ATGs -have beaten Elite and World class fighters through their career.

Elite- Have beaten many world class fighters and may be competitive with an ATG.

World class-Can be competitive with Elite fighters and have at least beaten some belt holders or other World class opponents.

ATG should be your top 25 fighters of all time. It should be an EXCLUSIVE club. It should be damn near impossible to get in. I would be ok to go as high as 30.

Start with the best pound 4 pound in each era and go from there, but there should be a cutoff line somewhere.

A lot of people share your views on this, but I don't. There are more than 25 all-time greats in most sports, and I don't view boxing as an exception to that rule.

Limiting such a status to 25 or 30 guys is a grave insult to the many greats who have laced them up in the rich history of the sport.

Exactly, it has to be more exclusive than this. I hear people talking about SSM being an ATG and its like man, who the hell do you favor him over at ATG 147 throughout history?
