    When you say remember, do you mean actively, like always talking about him or like, if someone mentions him, be like"Oh yeah, him"?

    Personally, I'd probably remember him as the guy who stirred up controversy and that nobody ever beat.

    Now, if they asked me how I remember his fights/wins/etc..that's a whole different story...

    And to answer the question, Floyd will likely be remembered long, long after everyone currently posting here is dead.

    As long as a recorded history of boxing exists, Floyd will be remembered.

    Now maybe a nuclear war will send mankind back to the stone ages, or perhaps humanity will reach a premature extinction due to an asteroid or some other natural disaster. But until then, Floyd has etched his place in the annals of history.

    I agree with this. his popularity will go up when he leaves because ppl gonna realzie he fought everyone and truly was one of the purest boxers ever.

    Then when Canelo really becomes a mega star then ppl will be like "Wow Canelo is 55-1, i cant believe Mayweather beat him 12-0"

    who brings up defensive fighters though? :lol:

    boxing moves on pretty fast, mayweather will be as talked about as whitaker is today...not often

    A guy like Tyson who achieved much less but excited people much more will be remembered much longer.

    One of the greatest of all time.

    As time passes, the legend will grow and the hate will pass. The need to hate the opposing fighter or opposing team's player (in other sports) fades and the greatness is appreciated.

    Mayweather anit Whitaker! hes won all his big fights, has all the PPV records (that means million upon millions have watched him) he's just a worldwide figure and social media will also make him be forevber remebered! Plus he has his own fighters so he'll be at fights for as long as we and him are alive.

    yea happens in All sports. so many have hated Kobe Bryant but more are starting to love him as they know hes bout to go. and about 5-10 years down the line they'll finally give him the respect they should

    Doesn't change a thing. I watched the fight in Russian (a language I don't speak) and I scored it 116-112 for Floyd.

    Only amateur boxing fans will score points for a fighter hitting air and throwing flurries which land nothing at all. Pac was completely neutralized, yet ate tons of counters and jabs all night thanks to his terrible defense.

    Barrera is 100% correct.

    150 years ago, those names will likely still surface when the frequently discussed topic arises, right along with all the other names he mentioned.
