Lionel Messi is loved, whereas Cristiano Ronaldo is disliked. The difference is character.

Effective punches landed. Pacquiao did less than Floyd.

Some people never learn. If you effectively cut off the ring and press the action it his hard for anyone to "run" from you. Pac gave him too much space because he was scared of getting countered. If some of you keyboard warriors have ever been in the ring or picked up gloves you would know that. Floyd won 118-110 and thats it.

So in other words you decided to invent your own scoring criteria and you want to pretend that your invention matters?

"effective" takes into account the quality of the shots. It's not purely a numerical matter.

But hey, I had Floyd winning (close) so overall I am in agreement with you.

It clearly the numbers soared because Manny Pacquiiao was the opponent and the draw! The cheers at the MGM Grand and the boos for Floy Mayweather Jr. said it all! Besides there were few Filipinos in the crowd during that fight.

Do you want people to stop or not? If so, don't make biased statements and don't keep arguing. There's already a huge thread on the punch stats. All you're doing is contributing to the continuation of the discussion in yet another thread on the topic.

Mayweather is a real weird/strange guy. The documentary 30 Days of May captures one essence of who he is, a guy distant from everyone. He's incapable of showing or feeling depths of love. He buys friendships and lives in an environment of leeches. They leech off him for money, and he leeches off them because he needs the validation of 'yes' men.
He's one of those guys who you wouldn't hang with, as he's so socially awkward and only talks about himself and his own interests and thoughts.

    1. Floyd Mayweather says 'What has Africa done for me?' in regards to giving to charities in Africa. That is some weird logic.

    2. Floyd Mayweather beat the living daylights out of women, a few women. Yes, here are pictures, too. For more information of the latest case that he was imprisoned for, see: http://deadspin.com/this-is-how-las-vegas-protects-floyd-mayweather-1699848463

He beat his mother in front of his kids to make matters far worse. The reason for the beating was something to do with her having romantic relations with an NBA player. (Mayweather and that women were no longer together by the way).

Later in regards to Ray Rice knocking his girlfriend out on tape, Floyd comments on that saying there's a lot of worse things that happen in other people's homes,

    3. Floyd never fought top prime opposition who posed stylistic threats. Williams, Margarito, prime Pacquiao (a different animal to 2015 past prime, KTFO by Marquez, one-armed).

    4. Morally he seems weird. Counting and flaunting money in front of his children, trying to get them interested in that. Strippers around where his children are.

    5. He's literally set money on fire. https://bossip.files.wordpress.com/...01_0005_layer_8_full-e1310478422463.jpg?w=700

    6. He's very boring to watch. That's a consensus amongst casuals now after the Pacquiao fight. He fought like a coward against a past prime, injured one armed small guy. Only fans who try to convince themselves that they're great purists take a liking to his performance.
People watch him because they're brainwashed into thinking that he's arguably the best ever and by not watching him they're probably missing out. He also secures all of the African American audience as there's no other African American top stars right now. Ray Leonard was a better boxer and would have pulled in a bigger audience today.

    7. He lacks critical thinking skills. He doesn't know how to form a decent argument.

At least with Jack Johnson, he would flash his cash and date white women which was taboo because he wanted to break the social stigma of black men being ostracised - that's a good thing..but Mayweather's character is just different and weird.

At least with Prince Naseem Hamed, he was confident and you can tell his banter came from a place of zero malice, but Mayweather is just weird. Prince talks about it more here:

These are the reasons why people hate him, but hey...none of us have lived with him to know his every nuance. We can't have the most accurate judgement until we really, really know him. But still, I think he's strayed a little too far to the extremes personally. I RESPECT the fact that he is always trying to improve himself though and grow in wisdom and character. He also does give to charity but doesn't publicise it.
He's a boxer at the end of the day. I don't like Carlos Monzon who killed his wife, but damn I like watching his intelligence in the ring.
