"Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather vs "Prince" Naseem Hamed @128 lbs who wins??

Mayweather absolutely destroys him. This won't even be competitive. Many newbies don't know this but Mayweather at 130 was just a completely different beast. He was incredibly active in there, nonstop punching and also had serious power.

You serious? You goddamn serious?!. Listen I admire Hamed (he's the fighter who got me into boxing) and I think he deserves his HOF induction but even I will admit he was exposed not by Barrera but by Kevin Kelley!

Mayweather pretty much dominates this fight. The End.

 

Aside from the fact that FLoyd was quicker, faster handed, more accurate and better defensively, he's also the naturally larger man between the 2. Hamed's only advantage I'd say is power, but what really hurts him is the fact he was known to jump in on guys, which made him very susceptible to getting countered.

First moment he gets rocked in the fight, Mayweather would've gone for the kill. Completely different class of fighters.

 

Whoever made up this thread must be a "newbie" or at the very least having done their homework...

Back in 2000 2001 Floyd practically BEGGED for a fight with Prince Hamed when he was at 130lbs and the Prince was fighting at 126lbs.... I'm sure Youtube has the Post fight interview with Larry Merchant and a young Floyd..

Floyd is a *****, but he would have DESTROYED the Prince, especially the younger Floydatsch:scaredas:

 

To find the interview of young Floyd Mayweather calling out Naseem Hamed in early 2001, look up "Floyd Mayweather JR interview compilation/calling out guys etc" on YouTube.

Back then, young Floyd was desperate for a payday with Naseem and willing to move down to a 128 catchweight to fight him. Naseem was the biggest rising star in boxing at the time, because of his undefeated record, big punching power, exciting fights, crazy ring entrances, and huge ego. Naseem was the "money" man of his time, so that was the guy young Floyd wanted to beat most.

But just a few months after that interview, Naseem's technical weaknesses were exposed by Barrera. Would young Floyd have done the same thing if he got the fight instead? I think so. But then again, Floyd did have problems with the heavy-handed Castilo a year later, so the heavy-handed southpaw Naseem may have given him some problems if Floyd was weight-drained down to 128. Either way, the most likely outcome would be UD for young Floyd, just like the Naseem-Barrera fight.

 

Naseem possibly would have gotten KO'd. Floyd at the lower weights was a sight to see. Look at how MAB outboxed Naseem. Floyd would have worn him down and stopped him late.

 

Hamed was a confidence fighter. I don't think he'd believe he could beat Floyd.

He didn't believe he could beat Barrera either.

 

Maybe if you're 18 years old and you started watching boxing 2 years ago and now think you're an expert.

Having watched Hamed's whole career myself I can tell you that he had a lot more than just power when he was at his peak. It was only after he made a name for himself that he started getting slack and developed lazy puncher syndrome. By the time he was fighting regularly in America against the likes of Augie Sanchez he had slipped massively and was relying on power and heart.

The Hamed that must be put forward for the Floyd fight would be the one who won the title from Robinson or up to (at the latest) the one who fought Kelley.

 

Floyd no doubt about it.Hamed was fun to watch when he faced ATG who was written of after some loss he failed to even make it interesting,showed just how limited he is vs A level fighter, MAB beat him so easy it was amazing to see, Hamed was clueless.
