I don't begrudge Froch one last payday at this point; let him fight whoever he wants for as much as he can get. I'm not interested in watching another fight with Ward, however, and I'm, not fussed on Degale, either. I say he should pursue his swansong at 175; go for glory.
Ward schools Froch all day everyday, Styles make fights. Froch is a warrior and hasn't ducked nobody. He can retire leaving a great legacy and a hot a$s wife. Like Marquez never wanting a rematch with Floyd.
What is with Ward and Dirrell (either brother)not wanting to fight each other? I never completely understood this!
He's better off retiring. There are no massive PPVs for him to take and he already lost his titles. There's really nothing left to prove for him. The Ward fight was done with long ago and a rematch will only have the same exact result.
Andre Dirrel has been calling Ward out and wants to fight him if he gets past Degale. Anthony Dirrel was calling out Ward when he was his mandatory but Ward wouldn't fight him and the WBC said he had plenty of time to fight him so he was stripped. Ward then dropped his emeritus status while Anthony Dirrel was still calling him out. I don't see Anthony Dirrel beating Ward but still WTH...
why not go up to LHW and fight 46 year old james toney for a wbf belt similar to calzaghe? toney would outbod froch for certain fro a few rounds but get overwhelmed when he gasses.
He's mentioned fighting Degale should he beat Dirrel maybe we will get that if not he has had a good career.
I don't believe Froch has ever really wanted the rematch. I think he'd take it if push came to shove and he really had to, especially in Nottingham. I also don't believe Ward ever really had any intention of coming over to the UK to fight him either. I think it was just a bluff because he knew Froch didn't really want the fight and the dispute about the city the fight was staged in gave Froch the get out he was looking for because he was sure Froch wasn't going to bend.
A great career to be honest. The dedication he showed and what he accomplished goes far beyond simply "good". I'm expecting retirement because DeGale won't really offer any serious money. Froch already proved himself fighting up-comers, it's all about money now and rightfully so.
the sort of fighter whose desire for a rematch waned alongside the career of his potential opponent. while waiting for ward, froch got even older, rich beyond his wildest dreams and a family. even then he gave ward the option of a career-high payday in a stadium where he isn't even his own favourite to win. meanwhile ward and his 4 remaining fans still clamour for a stadium they won't half fill. bless 'em. still claiming that?
don't underestimate fast car and sky's ability to sell a domestic dust-up, although the clock is ticking. they might be able to organise a stadium fight towards the end of the summer, but i expect retirement.
ah, bless. still referring to outpointing your opponent without hurting him as "ass whoopings". gotta love 'em.
