It says a lot about the people asking Floyd to move up

Poor reviews of the product tell the real story. [/quote]

Nah. That's the whole idea. To foster a "love him or hate him" environment.

The real story would be if people stopped buying his PPV's. They haven't. He's broken records several times, spanning close to a decade.

So are you denying the fact that fans/writers/observers in Ali's day were just as disgruntled towards his self-described "Greatest" moniker as you are with regards to Floyd's self-described "TBE" tag?

Methinks you might be missing my point.

Okay... but you used that logic with regards to Canelo in the other thread. I said in the other thread that peoples' bodies mature differently and that GGG is definitely a naturally bigger guy than Cotto regardless of the fact that they were both 140 at age 18, just like Floyd is still the naturally bigger guy than Pac even though they were both fighting below 108 at age 16. But the same thing is not true about Canelo and GGG.

I don't think that was the intention at all. The marketing angle is often passed off as an excuse for a boastful, abusive little man acting like a boastful abusive little man.

But the truth is, it carries over into his personal life because it is his true character.

He thinks he's the best ever, he tells people he's the best ever but then refuses to prove it to the people.

I see an attempt to justify using the moniker by likening it to Ali as if to give him a pass.

Let's examine Manny and Floyd's weights by age...

    16 Years Old:
    Floyd - 108 lbs
    Manny - 105 lbs

    17 Years Old:
    Floyd - 108 lbs
    Manny - 108 lbs

    18 Years Old:
    Floyd - 126/130 lbs
    Manny - 114 lbs

    19 Years Old:
    Floyd - 130 lbs
    Manny - 114 lbs

    20 Years Old:
    Floyd - 130 lbs
    Manny - 114 lbs

    21 Years Old:
    Floyd - 130 lbs
    Manny - 122 lbs

    22 Years Old:
    Floyd - 130 lbs
    Manny - 122 lbs

    23 Years Old:
    Floyd - 130 lbs
    Manny - 122 lbs

    24 Years Old:
    Floyd - 130 lbs
    Manny - 122 lbs

    25 Years Old:
    Floyd - 135 lbs
    Manny - 126 lbs

    26 Years Old:
    Floyd - 135 lbs
    Manny - 126 lbs

    27 Years Old:
    Floyd - 140
    Manny - 130

    28 Years Old:
    Floyd - 147
    Manny - 130

    29 Years Old:
    Floyd - 147
    Manny - 130

    30 Years Old:
    Floyd - 147
    Manny - 135

You will find that the last time that Manny and Floyd fought at the same weight from ages 16-30 was when both were 17 years old. From 18 years old and on they were always at least 2 weight classes apart until Manny turned 30.

Cotto and GGG last fought at the same age at 18. At 19, GGG was a WW while Cotto was a JWW. From that point on they were at least 2 weight classes apart until Cotto turned 29.

You can say that the difference in weight is greater between WW and MW than it is between JFW and SFW, but the difference in % of body weight is 1.5%.

Once again, you are using this logic when it suits you.

Me? I picked Floyd when I thought the fight was going to be made in 2009 and picked him before May 2nd. I never thought Manny could beat Floyd.

If that's true, why did Floyd come with a drug testing demand?

He never asked for one against Hatton, De La Hoya or Gatti, but the guy he had the style to beat it suddenly becomes an issue.

He was shook, he didn't want the fight and found a way out of it only to come back 6 years later when his opponent had been knocked out and slowed down sufficiently for him to eek out a points decision.

Nice try. They are 100% correct. Please point out which ones are incorrect.

Floyd didn't leap from 108 to 130 in the amateurs, he did stints at 116, 122 and 126 before 130. He competed at the Olympics at 126.

Because 90% of people in boxing thought Pacquaio was on PEDS - so if he wasn't, why was it an issue for him to do it?

You also forget he did have olympic standard drug testing for Hatton and De La Hoya. It became an issue solely because Team Pacquaio wouldn't say "Yes" to what other fighters had no problem with.

But keep making some narrative that Pacquaio ever had a chance against Mayweather. From 2009 onwards, this fight was always going the exact same way it went.

Won Golden Gloves and competed in the Olympics in 1996 at 126 and competed at 130 1 month before his 19th birthday at 130 in the ams. Next example please?

Even if you want to ignore that Floyd had a fight at 130 while still 18 years old he was still fighting at 126 while Manny was fighting at 114 at the same age.

I respect Floyd's skills. The only reason I'd want to see him move up is to see him lose. Clearly there is nobody at his weight that is a match for him. I'm not sure that Pacman even with a fully functioning arm/shoulder/whatever beats him.
