LOL at some of the logic in this thread.

People grow differently. Andre Ward fought as a light-heavy in the Olympics (iirc), so in order to prove himself he must fight at heavy, or surely at least cruiser?

Pernell Whitaker, Marvin Hagler, and MANY other all time greats fought in only 1 or 2 weight-classes.

Floyd is a small Welter...consistently out-weighed on fight night (heck, i heard he was only 149 vs Pac...Pac was 152) by 10+ lbs. No one should expect him to fight at Middle..

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare their fight night weights rather than what they weigh at the weigh in?

Edit: meant for duckler and pugilistic

So you give Pac credit for fighting at 154 and to Floyd you are little reserved to give credit for boxing at 154.Pac had One fight above 147.and it was cw at 150.Floyd fought 2Times at the limit of 154

That only screams you have little bias towards Pac.

And you can correct me if i'm wrong but both Pac and Duran started their careers when they were kids.

But enough of that,of course Pac and Duran are the 2TBE in moving up in weight.

I Don't put names, but everybody knows there are lots of ATG'S who didn't jump up,or if they moved it was most of the time in 24lbs territory(Floyd130-154)

But enough of that,i would like to see Floyd jump up.not prove himself anymore or nothing, just setting the bar even higher.

But also i Don't expect that to happen.Floyd is next 39,and Golovkin is basically a killer.

And i think way too many people would downplaying the possible victory over Golovkin.just because it's Floyd.

The excuses would running, like with Pacquaio right now.

Sometimes it seems Floyd should fight King Kong toe2toe to get even little bit respect.

But it happened before with supreme atheletes.everybody try find excuses and dowplay the archievements to certain degree.

And yes Floyd or nobody else believe he is TBE,it's just again one of the millions way to push the peoples buttons and generate more money..

Floyd is ATG undefetead, rich, hadn't take damage,i think i would also like to have career like this.instead of the likes of Ali.

Remember boxing is dangerous sport.i Don't want to be punchdrunk and probably Floyd neither.but maybe moving up 1-2 places in ATG rankings are worth of the risk, atleast to somebody?

Pacquiao went pro as a malnourished 15 year old.

    Duran was 16.

Floyd didnt go pro until he was almost 20.

Comparing their career beginning weights is either trolling or stupid

Yep, but someone else can take the time to do that research haha.

Never at any point was I even making the case that Floyd should move up to or that GGG shouldn't move up. I was just pointing out a serious flaw in the guy's logic.

But its ok for Floyd to ask Sergio to move up to smw to fight dirrel. Contradiction is a two way street.

If you'd like to track the weights they fought at by age you can do that in post #95 on this thread.

I really don't have an agenda on this subject. I don't care if Floyd moves up or not. I just thought it would be informative so I listed the highest weight each man fought at each year from 16 years old through 30.

You carefully excluded the fact that at 16 years old, FLoyd was a 112 pound fighter moving up to the featherweight division in the AM's and competed at FW in the Olympics- 125 lbs in 1996.

Sorry, I know it doesn't fit into your argument because it doesn't strengthen it at all.

His TBE talks are stupid, but I don't know what you'd mention Pacman or Duran as an example. Neither of those guys are the greatest ever.

And Duran never won a title at 140 or 130, why didn't you just mention DLH who ascended from the same exact weight classes as Floyd did and was able to steal a trinket title at 160 lbs against STurm before getting knocked out??

Anyone who follows the history of boxing surely knows neither of those guys are on the same stratosphere as Harry Greb, Ray robinson or Sam Langford.

So I agree that he's not TBE, it's idiotic for him to call himself that, but if you wanna start drawing him into comparisons with the true greatest, pick someone more venerable than Duran or Manny Catchking pacquiao.

Duran's pretty damn great. Not quite in the very top tier of ATGs. Which I consider, in no particular order, to be: Greb, SRR, Armstrong, Fitzimmons, Pep, Charles, Louis and Langford... but the tier just below with Ali, Benny Leonard and Joe Gans, maybe squeeze Walker in there too. I may be forgetting some but that's just my opinion and I admit I'm a huge Duran fan.

Here's another interesting point, Floyd also fought at 106 when he was 16 only difference is that he didn't go pro at 16 so he was doing it in the amateurs. And unlike package he did go up to the full 154
