Ali and Tyson weren't exactly media darlings in their hey day. Tyson only began to be looked at in a brighter light after his career ended when he began his life in entertainment, in particular The Hangover movie. After that, he ended up becoming even more famous and also suddenly became "lovable".

Ali was despised by a large portion of America for his stance on the war. He too was not looked on as having a "likable" personality until later in his career and in to his post career. Floyd will likely turn out the same, especially when you consider all of his really a$$hole stuff took place years ago around the DLH and Hatton fights. That is when his Money persona was in full effect. He has since toned it down and I think the last time it really came out was pre-Mosley.

As for his wife beating ways...history has turned a blind eye to many athletes and entertainers who have done the same and the same will happen with Floyd. In 20 years, his image and persona in the public eye will be more positive, depending on what he does post-boxing.

Bull Feces!!!!!!!!!!!! That's what you are full of too. Ali was a boxer that could FIGHT!! too Mayweather cannot "FIGHT"
Mayweather is a worthless POS a waste of incredible boxing talent. Just imagine what a fighter Mayweather COULD have been if only he'd had the cojones to match his talent

Did Mayweather get voted Fighter of the era?? NO!! Manny did by real boxing people who know what theyre talking about'
Mayweather wins only because of Vegas/NSAC corruption that has now been proven without a shadow of a doubt. His record is really 44- 3-1 at best

I was born in the 80s, so I'll concede to people who watched the prime of their careers in real time. But weren't Ali and Tyson very popular during the prime of their careers? Mayweather generates a lot of money but i don't really think he is popular.
Ali got some flack for his stance on the war early on, but eventually it made him even more popular since a lot of americans wanted to get out of the war.
Tyson was less beloved but no less popular.

Ali was loved by many and hated by many during his prime. The public had a fascination for Tyson, it was like watching a train about to wreck. However, there wasn't that much love for Tyson because he was quickly thrown under the bus by the general public after that bs **** conviction. Most of the general public nowadays don't know or care who Mayweather is.

Fighter of the decade is what Pac got, which was a farce when it happened. What's funny about it is that PBF beat the fighter of the decade easily, showing you who the real one was. PBF is now the fighter of the era and you can't stand it.:hi:

Ali was hated in his time who do you think you're fooling? If Pea Whitaker was still fighting today he would be hated as well.

Ali ran 10x more than Mayweather too. The running man dance was based on the Ali shuffle.

Because he is not deserving of the respect. He fights like a girl, disrespects everyone he comes into contact with and then claims to be better than ATGs. Let other people determine whether you are one of the greatest fighters of all time. Don't declare it about yourself. No class.

Maybe #48 should do the same? I won! I don't care what 99.9% of the world says. I declare myself winner.

Who acted like the b1otch? :| I won. :| I had shoulder injury. :| I'm too stupid to fill out form but trust us it's pain killers. :| I had life and death surgery :| I watched in slow motion. I won by 2 rounds :|:|:|

Because mayweather is an huge ******* and his severe lack of charisma, unlike Ali, can't make up for it thus everything he says rubs people the wrong way.

While the domestic violence is terrible a lot of american pro athletes have done abhorrent things, however mayweather doesn't have any redeeming qualities unless you love his style of boxing. The DV stuff is just pile on to the personal dislike. His fan base is also small as **** because boxing is way less popular than the NFL, NBA, MLB, even NHL and the nature of the sport he doesn't represent a city or school like in team sports so fewer people are willing to overlook his bad qualities.

Oracle arena is filled with 90% casual or non boxing fans whose only knowledge of mayweather is that he's a boastful ******* thats boring to watch and happens to beat women so of course he's gonna be booed
