And this is his fault because...19 KO streak? Boyish good looks? Charming, humble personality? Maybe no one cares about Eastern bloc fighters? His management does need to really make something big happen for him. Well, two of his last three opponents (Geale/Murray) are currently in the top 10? :huh What was Rubio ranked when he fought GGG? He was the WBC Interim Title holder leading up to the fight...so maybe all three of his last fights were in the top 10?
Lol I know Golovkin isn't a PPV draw, but if we're speaking of fighters who are big draws for Mayweather to fight, then that pool is going to decreases exponentially. I see GGG being a PPV draw one day. He still has time. If he did fight Mayweather (which won't happen), Mayweather could definitely hype it up. It'd do nice numbers. Nothing record-breaking, but nice numbers. Better than a Khan or Brook or Thurman lol.
Khan brings the British audience with him, which brings another 2m-4m people watching the fight. In rank of total draw, I'm thinking something like the below exists 1. Floyd 2. Wladimir 3. Pacquaio 4. Alvarez 5. Khan 6. Cotto 7. Mosley (when active) 8. Froch ( UK Audience again ) Got to remember, there is money to be made outside the states too.
That's pretty fair, IMO. But I still think in terms of PPV draw, holding it by themselves, it goes more like this. 1. Floyd 2. Wladimir 3. Pacquaio 4. Alvarez 5. Khan 6. Cotto 7. Mosley (when active) 8. Froch ( UK Audience again ) There's a huge separation in terms of the levels of supers****om.
You'd be surprised at how many people watch Khan and Froch, the same with Cotto. Khan has a higher net worth for instance than Froch, Hatton and Calzaghe. Wladimir has been doing $15m-25m per fight against pretty much everyone, plus has sponsorship/endorsement deals that Floyd could only wish he had. I think Khan is probably the biggest money fight for Floyd at this stage, followed closely by Alvarez.
:deal The notion of a guy who's avoided dangerous prime fighters and fights the vast majority of his career suddenly changing that now and taking on Golovkin is absurd
no. because Pacquiao would actually have the ***** and courage to fight him and for that reason, get hurt. seriously hurt. like immediate Parkinson's hurt.
Thats not true Pacquiao continuously avoided prime dangerous fighters himself And his chin is already cracked, so Gennady would put his lights out quickly It would NOT be a sustained Parkinson inducing beating If Roach is too scared to let Cotto fight him you think he'd let Manny? Theyd demand a friggin 141 catchweight and for all GGGs belts atsch
I was being facetious. Maybe that's hard to see over the internet, but it was 100% sarcasm. Mayweather and Pacquiao would be decapitated. You'll never see either of them fight GGG- especially Pacquiao, lmao. The end. But hey...prime Pacquiao vs GGG. It would be a fun fight....while it lasted.
:good its hard to tell meanings over the net. thats what makes FB such a pain in the ass  GGG tonight against a trickly speedy slickster - can he maintain The Streak against someone who's gonna be very hard to pin down? :think
That's why I'm excited!!! No one can cut the ring off like the Kazakhstani Killer! I think it'll only take one good counter/shot to put Monroe in survival mode, and once that happens... it's only a matter of time.
:good Its always awesome when GGG fight day arrives! 36 minutes is a long time to be stuck in a ring with Gennady Golovkin
