There's a very obvious reason Cotto isn't fighting GGG (right now anyway).

Cotto saw a very big opportunity to grab the MW strap from Martinez. He and the rest of the 2 camps at the time knew exactly how bad Sergio's knees were, yet they all realized it was a win-win situation for them both. Sergio would likely have lost to any half legit MW contender, a loss to Cotto was a chance to cash out at the same time. A loss for Cotto would have been a loss to the undisputed MW champ, in a weight class he'd never fought at (as well as a big pay day). Conversely, a win would mean the title against who was in most people's opinion, p4p top 5 (pre JCCjr).

Now he's got the belt, he just wants to hold it for a bit before cashing out against Canelo. Cotto never has, and never will be a true MW - he just won the title from the shade of Sergio (everyone knows a 100% Martinez wipes the floor with Cotto).

Cotto vs Canelo won't be competitive let alone Cotto vs GGG.

Cotto's had his time in this sport, let him cash his way out into retirement now. Frankly, he deserves it....

That's what it is, and that's what his fans hate. They know he should be seeking out challenges if he's a supposed warrior, not waiting on smaller guys to fight him but, they refuse to see that on a conscious level. Instead, they look outwardly to put the blame elsewhere.

Yes he is and the result of that one could prove how much of an embarrassment Golovkin truly is for considering Geale one of his top opponents. Remember, this will be Cotto's second fight at Middleweight. Oh and just in case you clowns are forgetting, Cotto has been past his prime for years now and clearly so.

Cotto doesn't have to fight a guy much larger than him that isn't even a huge draw yet

As a Cotto fan, I just can't justify it at all. The truth is I don't believe he can beat Golovkin. I think Cotto would outbox him early but Cotto has never proven he can really handle pressure, Golovkin applies fairly intelligent pressure and with the size and power would ultimately end him mid to late rounds. It is what it is

Not sure what you're talking about. Cabbies? The man is a natural 140 pounder who balloned up to 160 after eating too many pincho's and junk food.

This is literally his second fight at MW after getting embarrassed by Trout 2 fights ago, and even then, he has a better resume than GGG at MW.. Once you have cripples, midgets, mental patients, senior citizens, and a guy who in his prime got knocked out by Brian ****ing Vera holding major titles at Middleweight.. well that's when you have a problem and need to move up.

GGG is fighting cabbies because he wants to, not because he has to. He expects handouts to be given to him after knocking out bums all his career.. :patsch:rofl
