Golovkin didn't really impress me last night

GGG knocks out and beats everyone at SMW not named Andre. He has a chance to seek greatness yet rather fights Willie Monroe and a shot Felix Sturm's leftovers. :smoke

Not impressed at all by GGG seen a lot of fighters and there's nothing special about him but hype

TBE ,Pac ,Cotto ,Canelo ,never fought anyone with just 6 KO in a high profile fight...maybe its me. No one even heard of Monroe until a few weeks ago ,I thought he could give GGG some trouble but ,I knew I was just fooling myself.

 

not anyone with power ,or skills he fought a guy that had 6 KO ,that like fighting Pauline or Kristy.

 

Every time he fights the same usernames crop up saying how he was exposed and is just fighting cans etc etc

It's so boring. Busting out everyone's KO percentage and saying "see, never been in with a puncher" as if the Rubio fight didn't happen. It's ridiculous. I know it makes you look more astute to slag off a popular fighter but this is BS and quite disrespectful to the boxers he's faced.

Anyway - onto this fight. People underestimated Monroe Jr going in because he had a loss on his name (which wasn't one to be ashamed of either). Very technically sound boxer and seemingly very tough. At best, he won 2 rounds (after being put down twice). If that's exposing someone then I figure every boxer in the world has already been exposed 5 times over

 

Who else was available for him to fight tonight? He wants to do 4 fights a year. Cotto, Canelo, Lee and Quillen have had or having fights around the same time. Let someone up and coming have a shot; that's how people get a chance to prove themselves

 

Nobody, and nobody will be available for him next year either..

He needs to move up and make his claim at the 168 division. A 33 year old with 34 fights should not be fighting the competition he's fighting.

know this... what GGG tries to do is very risky, unlike b it ch boy Mayweather who runs and takes almost no risk.

 

The problem with GGG is that nobody at 160 can beat him. All title holders are running for cover since they know what the result is going to be. Cotto doesn't want any part of that since Cotto is looking to cash in rather than take any risk (I can't blame him at this stage in his career). GGG best bet is to go up in weight and take on come caliber fighters at that weight class.

 

I'm a fan of GGG and his style, his personality and such - but if anyone is trying to say he's fighting the cream of the crop, they're fooling themselves.

 

But that isn't his fault.

The other boxers at 160 need to face him and get him out of the way as he is the bogeyman of the division.

Besides, he is small at middle, let alone jumping up half a stone!

 

He just wanted to give a show. He will move his head if danger is present. 168 is a big jump for GGG. He is quite a small middle. But I´m quite confident he will win against Froch, Direll, Groves and Degale. Ward is a good fighter and much bigger than GGG but I think GGG is just wrong for Ward. GGG has stamina, knockout punch and chin advantage with a style that wont give Ward time to dictate the space opposite to Ward vs Froch fights where Ward foot-and handspeed was just so much better - Froch was passive, hesitating and slow. GGG is much faster, active, wont hesitate and his footspeed will match with Wards.
