Go ahead, try to name an active fighter who can do it better. No matter how fast the opponent can run, he's always right there in front of them, cutting off escape routes. Most fighters can run 2-3 rounds before they're cornered and hammered. I thought Monroe could use his speed and footwork to stay safe until the 2nd half of the fight, but GGG cornered him in round 2 and took his legs away.
He is very good at it. People want to complain about fighters running, but there is an answer to everything in boxing. If a guy is using a lot of moving, then you have to be able to cut off the ring and set traps.
Golovkin and Gonzalez cut the ring off in such a subtle manor that the other fighter doesn't realize how quickly they gain ground on them until it's too late
Yes, this is what most people don't understand about different types of pressure fighters. Dynamic movers feast on one dimensional sluggers just follow in straight lines or in circles and go head hunting. The only krptonite against a mover is to move side to side until the mover doesn't have anywhere to go and dig down with body punches to slow them down for later rounds.
Running is an excuse fighters make when they get out boxed. Kov,GGG don't have this problem... It was almost pathetic to watch Manny chase Floyd around the ring in straight lines for 12 rounds.. There is no rule against using your legs..A truly great offensive fighter should have no problem finding an answer for it.
