I am guessing the next style they want Golovkin to face is an inside fighter

Monroe had more success on the inside than I think anyone anticipated, but also he just had success when he was willing to throw.

GGG is like a much better version of David Tua - seems to have a hell of a chin, has rudimentary head movement and stalks his opponent. The difference is he's a lot more well rounded in his offense than Tua is and he picks his punches a lot more.

 

Andre Ward is one of the best inside fighters in the sport. He's very adept at getting on the inside. He defends well on the inside as well. If Golovkin wants to test himself against an inside fighter, Ward is a really good way to go. Cotto is a good inside fighter as well.

 

Ward is too big and Cotto is too small

 

Ward is good defending on the inside but I'd say he's much more comfortable at the mid range and working off his jab. I think Ward is heavily over-rated, despite me personally believing he's a Top 5 P4Per when he's around, it's not because he's a great inside fighter with good power - its because he, like Floyd, is great at distance control, defense and using his jab to set up wins.

 

Ward is the most complete inside fighter now.

Ward IS one of the best inside fighters in the game.

I think ward is two inches taller and maybe five pounds more.

It's a good fight.

 

Follow him after the Olympics he controls all the distance I consider him at this stage better than Floyd .
