Would GGG be susceptible to Canelo's combinations?

Yeah sure, Canelo will have success with his combinations, he's an accurate puncher but I don't think it will be enough.

 

I'm sure he'll have his moments against GGG, just like some of GGG's past opponents have, but I think he gets stopped by Golovkin in the later rounds. If Miguel Cotto's brother can rock Canelo, imagine what a bigger, stronger, harder hitting Golovkin can do to him? GGG by TKO in 8.

 

Would Canelo run out of gas after 6 because he doesn't train or would he have more stamina not having to make 154.

 

PROBLEM IS canelo will be open himself when throwing them, canelo begs his opponents to trade. canelo to beat GGG would have to box really well and at times throw combinations but he def needs to keep switching it up

 

just because a fighter has a big name doesn't mean he will stand a chance he would lose to many legit mw's let alone golovkin who is in a class of his own

 

Yeah, but GGG will eat them right up. GGG is a monster.

 

Canelo likes to counter guys that come to him so he will have some success with his combinations but Golovkin will likely keep coming and as he has shown previously be willing to take shots to land his own.

How Canelo responds to Golovkin's power will decide the fight, I don't think Canelo will do well just standing and trading he will have to be at his defensive best to not be overwhelmed. I'd give Canelo a better chance if he had better footwork but he's too stationary to keep Golovkin off him. Golovkin will likely break him down and stop him.

 

You don't need to be standing and trading to get knocked out by golovkin he hits that hard

Canelo doesn't have the power. GGG's fights take a normal pattern it seems.

Round 1 Other guy throws jabs lands and moves a lot stays off the ropes
Mid Round 2... GGG lands a big shot and they get the "Oh Sheeeet" moment"

3-5 Running for their life now GGG now isn't even bothered about what they are throwing back and is even letting them hit clean as they have no power or pop to trouble him

6-8 Slow painful end for the fighter

To beat GGG you need to have round 1 for 12 rounds and also have enough power to trouble and push GGG back. So far no one has had enough pop to make GGG move away from his game plan. Once he comes up against someone who can hurt him he may well just adapt and have another plan but as of yet he's never even had to move into second gear in a single fight it seems.

 

True but standing there trying to slip and counter without regularly moving to catch a breather is guaranteed to get you KO'ed against a puncher like Golovkin unless you have the chin and slickness of a James Toney.

I don't even think Ward could take Golovkin's power he was dropped heavily by Boone. But he won't just stand there to be hit, he'll move, slip and hold and win a decision.

 

Who has never been hit. Look at this cherry picking record and you will see he fights feather fisted fighters
