I know this is beyond old news but, I was rewatching the fight again today and I just can't see how that liver shot was strong enough to take him out the way it did. But, I just dont know if it was a dive exactly either. There weren't a lot of boxing forums with long threads nor any real social media at the time so I am not sure what the overall consensus was with the KO. That's why I'm asking. The odd part is that Hopkins and Dela Hoya ended up teaming up on Golden Boy Promotions not too long after this fight.
Did you watch it in slow motion yet? Apparently that completely changes the entire context and complex of a fight.
Who was calling out "body shot! body shot!" right before it happened? It made the whole thing look suspicious.
Nazeem Richardson I think. I've heard him yell things like this in other fights and I think be did in other parts of this fight, so I wouldn't read too much into it.
I don't know if he took a dive, but it definitely looked like he could've gotten back up. Still it looked bad, and kinda suspicious.

Because Bernard Hopkins needed Oscar to dive to KO him? nah Oscar just couldnt compete at middleweight
