I agree 100% I said so in an earlier post that I hope he's the real deal because the sport needs guys like him at the top. However I can't sit here and listen to people saying "oh he'd KO Leonard and Hearns and blah bla bla because it's nonsense. Could he? Sure, maybe, can we say that definitively? Absolutely not!! Those fighters I mentioned (Leonard,Hearns,Toney,McCallum) all had outstanding careers fighting other great fighters. I've still yet to see the "great" fighter GGG has beaten.
Look. I'm not a GGG hater. I like him a lot. But fans judge fighters based on their opposition. NOT THEIR RECORD.
How DARE you compare an "average" guy with the Holy Trinity +1 of the Fab 4 The Fab 4 cant be touched dont you know? NEVER EVER Hell even NEVER EVER 345/350 am fights and 30 KOs of 33 pro fights against the best who are willing to face him But look at what GGG does to them - they MUST be bums to be beaten by this "average" fighter Comparing him to the Untouchable-for-All-Time Holy Trinity +1 Preposterous Disgraceful Shameful Permanban this clueless foo
It's kind of funny you say the fab 4 can't be touched. Well don't you remember the featherweight fab 4 of the 00's being compared to the original fab 4? Fans respect opposition.
Whatever...... Most boxing fans would consider fighters like Jones or Hopkins who so you're aware came after the "fab 4" on par with them. Those 4 are what we call all time greats, hall of famers!!! But I'm guessing in your mind GGG is already there with all his massive huge signature wins right???
You know what's funny is if you look at Hagler's record and opponents after 33 fights his best opposition was Sugar Ray Seales and he had already been beaten twice. He had several fights that went the distance against regional, mediocre fighters. In fact, he had only fought regionally at this point.
If you look at Hearns, same story. He hadn't even fought outside of Michigan until his 18th fight. He fought Leonard on his 33rd fight. Let's keep things in perspective.
Well Hagler was a young green fighter. He kept on getting stronger and tougher and better as his career progressed. GGG came to the professional ranks as a much more finished product. He was older and heavily experienced in the amateurs.
Dude, it's you who don't get it. There are only a few fighters in history ( Archie Moore comes to mind, Ray Robinson, ...) able to consistenly KO people like GGG does after turning 30. Most of the middles you wrote had good ko streaks before turning 30, then this streak dried up pretty quick. Age doesn't seem to affect GGG in the KO department. Probably because his technique and approach to the sport.
Please don't waste your breath on these posters. There's a reason I only have a handful of posts having been on this site for years, it's because 99.9% of this board know absolutley nothing about boxing.
