Majority of great fighters have been offensive fighters

Being a great defensive fighter is much harder than being a great offensive fighter and requires a higher skill level.

 

Most of the greats have good offense and defense. To reach that level of being a great, it's rare and unlikely to not have both

 

not at all, fighters that can break through defenses are the more special offense is harder in any sport.

Nonsense. It's much easier to learn offense in boxing than defense. So boxers never learn how to defend adequately.

Not to discredit these guys or claim they're unskilled because they are extremely skilled. But they're more popular or great because they're exciting.

Most great punchers are born like that, Hearns being an exception. You can learn proper punching technique but usually you either have heavy hands or you don't. On the other hand, fighters like Pea and Mayweather only come along generationally. Anyone can throw punches but to slip and parry punches requires skill and practice.

 

One is God-given and the other is an acquired skill.

 

I agree that not just anyone is going to go in there and start stopping people but which do you think is harder? To be an offensive fighter and win fights or a defensive fighter and win fights?

 

very very few can throw accurate fast shots that knock people out, you said it yourself there born like that. Roy Jones and Tyons knockouts were the best things ive seen, blocking and dodging a shot is good to watch but doesnt score points. Somebody thats can blitz through elite fighters is better and more special

 

Defense is more impressive. Everyone is offensive.
