How exactly do you fake a brain injury? Do you really think it is easy to knock up some dodgy MRI scans. And how does a medical procedure that took place in the future help him win a DQ over a guy he was beating comfortably?:huh You do realise that the ref made the DQ call at the time, which was prior to the MRI being performed, don't you?

 

I think Dirrell quit vs Abraham. It was getting tough in there, and he quit.

Btw, I think Froch lost to Dirrell. Dirrell landed the better punches, even though he did run and hug a hell of a lot. He won, and clearly.

 

Agreed, I couldn't stand the way Andre executed in that fight but he made froch look pedestrian froch's talent alone couldn't match Andre and I think it's clear to everyone. I've never cared much for dirrel but some of the froch supporters here are delusional if you think he clearly won that fight.

Dirrell landed the cleaner punches and did the more effective work. When Froch took a knee after the fight before the scorecards were read out, he knew he got beaten.

A fighter fights to his strengths.

Carl does not want to get into a technical boxing match with someone, because he's a fighter. He's a warrior, and he wants to fight.

Likewise, Andre Dirrell does not want to get into a shoot out in the centre of the ring, because he's a highly skilled technician, and not a fighter.

Basically, Carl doesn't respect anybody, unless they're willing to trade with him in the centre of the ring.

If he truly thinks he beat Andre Dirrell, he's f*cking delusional. There were a lot of uneventful rounds, but all the technical boxing came from Dirrell. Froch was basically awarded that fight through effort. He was the aggressor who walked forward. But despite that, he hardly landed anything, and he was repeatedly countered.

Its something I have never bothered to look into. The ref made the call Jordan, not any physician a few days later. Do I agree that Dirrel made a meal out of it, as usual? Yes. And it does allow one to question his character. But AA did foul Durrel. Let's not forget or ignore that.

 

How the hell can you score a fight based on walking forward and getting hit, whilst not landing anything?

Also, there's too many fans of the Rocky movies on here, who will criticise a guy for timing someone and making someone miss with feints and great footwork etc. I can only imagine the abuse that Sweet Pea would get on here if he was fighting today. Lara, Rig, and Dirrell etc, are all classed as runners by ignorant fans. I've even seen Ali being labelled as a runner. Boxing is a science. The Sweet Science. Hit, without getting hit. Gatti vs Ward type fights are incredible, but footwork and reflexes should be respected much more. Herol Graham is another fighter who wouldn't be appreciated today.

Go and watch the Dirrell vs Froch fight again. Dirrell lured him in, made him miss, and then countered him. He should have been awarded the fight based on scoring shots. There was little action, but Dirrell boxed well, especially in the first half of the fight. Carl literally did nothing in the first half of the fight, apart from pour forward and miss. It was a joke of a decision. If you think Dirrell didn't do a lot, then Carl did nothing. These judges need looking at. Because you can't score rounds on aggression alone.

Yes he was beating him easily. I was rooting for him big time in that fight. I was laughing as he was schooling Abraham. But I'm not biased, he quit... Abraham was getting close. Nothing indicated that Abraham was getting the KO, but he was getting more aggressive and Dirrell seemed uncomfortable.

It looked like he quit. It was clearly an act at the end when he was saying he got knocked out and looked like he wanted to cry.

 

Froch was made to look a fool, swinging and hitting air all night. Then to have Dirrell genuinely stun him and still consider him a coward just reminds me of how s hit a person Froch is. Glad he got his azz handed to him by Ward.
