    You'd be surprised Mayweather could be a slight favorite fight night just off rep. And there is no real fight Mayweather could have taken in the last 15 yrs that would see him as the underdog.

    Why not? Maidana got a shot after beating Broner- not long after he was shut out by Alexander. How's Porter worse than Maidana.

    Garcia is undefeated and a name. How's he worse than the likes of Ortiz?

    Khan lost every major poll world wide if it was a survey 7/10 polls voted Maidana over Khan, even most ESB polls wanted Maidana over Khan. Khan even ducked Maiden when he challenged him to a rematch to see who should fight Floyd. Maidana damn near won the first fight khan likely gets stopped.

    Marcos only became a bad choice when the fight was actually signed.

    Well, yes Pacquaio fight was one sided

    But Garcia would probably get shut out

    Porter wouldn't have much success either

    Comparing situations Maidana was on a better run and beat an Unbeaten WW Champ Broner, Porter hasn't really done much since his lost to Brook plus Maidana is an accomplished fighter and has one of the best resume's out win or lose.

    Garcia I can see due to people buying into the unbeaten thing but, Danny in a lot of opinions lost 2/3 of his last fights. Ortiz was on a run culminating in him beating a WW Champ.

    Ortiz was also #3 and Maidana #4/5 at WW at the time of the fight. You have to look at the circumstances as well as the fighters.

    Maidana was rated 6 by TBR. Porter currently rated 7 and a win over Broner would probably see him in the top 6.

    Broner has replaced Berto has the fall guy to land a Mayweather payday.

    You say Ortiz was on a run...drew with Peterson (who Garcia just beat), beat Betro...not much of a run really is it?

    I very much doubt Mayweather or his people care what someone's rank is as long as it's a marketable fight he thinks he is going to win.
