ive already posted my thoughts on this earlier in this thread....i do think froch is passed it....but id prefer this over cotto/ggg....by a healthy margin...
With all due respect to Golovkin, he took 11 rounds to stop Martin Murray on his feet at Middleweight a couple of months ago. The notion that he would blast Froch out of there quickly or even at all at Supermiddleweight is pretty fanciful. Pretty sure Froch would have handled Murray in just the same way, if not more comfortably than GGG. IMO Froch takes the best Golovkin has, bullies him and stops him late. Plenty of punchers have come up from MW to SMW and their power hasn't translated.
I will give him credit!! But i dont see the fight happening and if it happends i do see froch winning the fight!
Agreed with everything you said, except I'm not sure Froch definitely wins, and I think it's unlikely he stops GGG.
Exactly and Murray landed quite a bit too. These guys have 28% and 37% KO rates at Middleweight respectively. Golovkin will never have been hit as hard or frequently in his life if this fight happens. Fair play to Golovkin if he does choose to jump straight in at the deep end in SMW division. But if he lasts the distance I think his face will look a total mess. IMO GGG will get Cobra-ed!
I have a feeling GGG might just defend a bit more vs Froch than he does against a weak puncher that he has completely dominated. I mean, he did defend well until after he had Monroe weakened then he opened up a lot (too much imo but he seemed unphased and did get the stoppage so whatever). I seriously doubt he fights like that against a puncher.
He didn't walk through Taylor who was nowhere as big of a hitter at middleweight. I bet any money that if GGG v Froch happens, Froch will have a lot of respect for GGG's power.
Froch has the physical advantages, but the difference in skill level is vast, plus Froch is on the slide. No way will this be not a close fight.
