This Monday on my way to work I heard the following on a popular morning talk show in the new york tri state area....

"Hey, did you hear about the super fight this weekend...?"

Immediately I thought of the Chocolatito and Triple G double header on HBO. I thought, oh my, boxing is back!! Hell to the yes!!!

Much to my dismay, they brought up the other "super fight" that weekend:

    Romney vs. Holyfield

....and then proceeded to trash Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight calling it the snooze fest of the centruary.

Yes, boxing needs to rebound in a big way.

    We need a super fight.

Which fighters do you see producing such a fight in the forseeable future and how do you think it will compare in magnitude to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight?

Idk. It takes more than special talent to create a super fight. you need the star appeal that makes you a household name. I just don't see anyone with that appeal right now. It could be a while.

You shouldn't care too much about what non-boxing fans say, just wait 2 days and Povetkin-Perez will satisfy.

GGG v froch has gotta be hardcore boxing fans super fight. Talks are ongoing apparently. What a fight that would be. I fancy froch to stop him in the late rounds in a good even fight. Ggg seems to have a decent aul chin but i think he will gas against someone with a high work rate like froch. Ggg v canelo would also be great.

Romney would give Floyd more of a fight than Pac did.

    GGG vs Canelo

Wont do anything of the same magnitude in terms of ppv numbers, but in will blow maypac out of the water in terms of entertainment.

    stevenson vs kovalev
ggg vs cotto but were going to get cotto vs canelo
then instead of fury fighting wlad it should be wilder vs fury winner fight wlad then we may have a super fight in the heavyweight division which we been craving for a long time

I don't care about super fights, just give me good fights. I'd rather watch someone like Roman Gonzalez, Takuya Kogawa or Koki Eto than see someone like Mayweather...

Are you shocked that someone in the mainstream media talked about a national figure who's run for President twice competing in a charity Boxing match with the HW Champion of The World? Of course that makes the news.

Outside of this website I bet you couldn't find 5 out of a 100 random people walking down the street who've ever heard of GGG, I doubt 1 in 200 have heard or Chocolatito.

Well don't wish for things that will never come true it will only serve to frustrate the hell out of you. Kind of like sitting and hoping to hear Pantera on Pop Hits1.
