Golovkin doesn't really box with any substance though. He uses his outside game as way to measure someone up for heavy shots up close. He's not exactly Andre Dirrell who uses his outside game to win him fights. Froch showed against Groves/Kessler he can use his long arms to frustrate if he wants and he could do the same to Golovkin.
I'm not Froch fan whatsoever, but beating people like Geale, Macklin and Munroe at 160 doesn't really lead you into a fight with one of the top fighters at the division above. He isn't even big for 160. Froch has an iron chin and Munroe was tagging GGG with ease and Froch hits hard, I'd love nothing more than to see Froch flattened but I don't see it as such a 1 sided beat down as other seems to expect.
This is a great fight for Froch and one I expect him to win on points. I really hope it is over here though.
agree, I can see Froch wanting this. Either way it adds to his precious legacy. Don't think he wants t be remembered as ducking GGG If he hasn't aged in the time he has been out of view of 80,000 people I think he can win this. He has been disciplined and stuck to his boxing when needed against bangers before. If GGG does cut him off easily it will be a war.
Froch has an unreal chin and hits hard, nobody even knows if Golovkin can carry his power up to 168. Golovkin could win the fight, but people saying it's an easy fight are ridiculous. It won't be easy for either of them. I'd be having Froch as a favourite going in though. This is coming from a proper Froch hater as well.
I think this GGG beats this Froch (and prob any froch for that matter but that's beside the point) but I remember when people gave Carl absolutely no chance of beating Bute and that I was laughed at when I said Bute was an uknown quantity at elite level and had never been in with someone as good as froch. He'll also likely be fighting on Froch's home turf. To some extent thats equally true with GGG except he's also far smaller and coming up in weight for the first time. This is a great, legacy enhancing fight for whoever wins and we should commend both fighters for taking each other on if they do.
X2. I'm not a Froch fan either but the guy knows how to exceed his supposedly obvious limitations. It'd be a great fight. On a separate note what is your username about? Floyd will never what? Fight Pac? Lose?
Few people have asked me this. Floyd Will Never lose, It's beyond cringey and I wish I could change it haha
Froch Wins = Massive win, beat the most feared boxer in the sport today, adds to an incredible resume, etc. Golovkin Wins = Froch was past it, couldn't get motivated, Froch is a limited boxer, etc. ESB Logic.
Pretty much bang on. I can see Froch's interview now, post fight: ''No, even though he's stopped me, I wouldn't say Golovkin hits harder than Bute, Groves or Abraham, it's just that the reflexes weren't there tonight. Time caught up with me. No doubt in my mind I'd have beaten the guy 3 years ago.''
Hope Golovkin stops him but I think Froch's size may edge it for him. Will be a great tear up regardless.
If this get's made I think Froch will be the man with his hand raised. 1. He'll be by far the bigger man (GGG looks small even when against MW's). 2. He's far more proven and fought better fighters. 3. Who's to say GGG's power has the same effect at SMW? 4. Even if he does carry the power up, if there's anyone who can take it.. it's Carl Froch.
