It would give wilder legitimacy for sure

of course its a big risk

but all the angles are in his favor

there is a blueprint to beat pov

    he has the reach advantage

povetkin has a good chin but can be dropped

wilder would be smart to take the fight

He is nothing like Tyson in any way except the fact that he's managed score a lot of KOs.

His boxing looks really poor to me, which is why it's hard for me get excited about him. If he beats Povetkin I'll be impressed.

To compare Wilder to Tyson in any way is an insult to boxing fans. Tyson was champion at 20 and unified shortly after that, this clown has fought stiffs for 5 years.

    EVEN IF......

and thats a huge IF....Wilder seriously wants Povetkin.......

No chance in hell Haymon lets it happen.

Lets not talk about the title or the payday either.

We all saw how fast Quillin dropped his title and career high payday.

    Wilder is no different.

Haymon will have him fighting Szpilka next, after being granted an exception, and then, he'll see a unification fight against the Pianeta v Browne winner.

SO, the WBC wont enforce this mandate for 18 months, and by then, Povetkin will either fail a drug test or lose without his roids. :nono:smooch

You're picking Pianeta to defeat Chagaev? Interesting. :think

It's just kind of sad that Povetkin is just showing this now, better late than never I suppose... Getting his ass whooped by Wlad was the wake up call he needed, he was getting by on natural talent alone and probably only showed us half of what he's capable of.

I hope the WBC force this fight. Does he have to take this fight after Molina?

Pov vs Wilder and Fury vs Wlad this year would be great.

The winners for the undisputed championship - the victor will be the first since Lewis.

Say its Wlad vs Povetkin II.

No way Wlad cheats like that for a second time . He gets bombed out rather easily and Pov becomes undisputed champ becoming the greatest HW of the past Lewis era.

    Povetkin
    Vitali
    Wlad

Well as a big fan of both guys who doesn't have an agenda, I actually like Povetkins chances in a rematch. Wlad is getting older and older, and Povetkin has finally got himself together. Povetkin is already HOF worthy, but if he beats Wilder, Wlad and unifies the division he becomes an ATG. :deal

    No.

Of the past 30-40 years or so , only HWs- Lewis , Tyson , Holyfield , Holmes , Bowe and Spinks entered the HOF.

They were all the HW Champ.

Povetkin held nothing more than a trinket , beat nobody great and lost his biggest fight.
