6 rounds each, so round 2 is what won him the title, he almost threw it away, almost but he did just enough. Froch KO's him no doubt in my mind.

    Agreed.

If Froch withstands the fist 4 rounds with Degale he goes on to brutally stop him anytime after the 8th

I don't get the impression that people understand how good Dirrell is! Lightening quick hands, with power and a decent defence. He basically beat Froch and didn't get the nod. Degale did throw away the middle/late rounds but he won 11 & 12 on my card, so shows he couldn't have gassed too badly!

One other thing about Degale, he has a great chin. Seen him caught flush a few times now. Frcoh fights with his face which is one thing, but most top level boxers have at least an above average jaw. Mayweather proves that.

As for Groves, anyone who thinks he beat Degale again needs their heads testing.

Lovely touch by DeGale to dedicate the win, the biggest night of his life to the late Darren Sutherland, an old friend and rival from his amateur days.

DeGale is a good lad, it was refreshing to see him in the U.S. surrounded by his family instead of some wanna be bad boys or strange entourage and I'm genuinely delighted for him.

Also I hope British boxing fans get behind him now and give him the respect he deserves.

Thought DeGale was the man years ago then a fell out with him a bit when he contracted Solarisitis and acted w ank for a while, looks like now hes grown up and realised what hes got and could loose, fair play to him. ATB to him

Wonder if George Groves was watching this on Sky last night.

Froch in the studio giving it the usual largesse and DeGale winning the World Title that he fought twice for. Ouch!

I had it 114-112 to Degale but all square at 94-94 after 10 rounds. I found the majority of the middle rounds (4-10) a complete contrast from the opening 3 rounds as Degale either dropped his work rate or/ and was outboxed by Dirrell.

I love not having to stop up until 5am to see American cards but my god they are flat. No atmosphere at all!

Chuffed to bits for Degale though, was unlucky he didn't land that big shot earlier in round 2 as Dirrel was down and out at the bell. Going into round 6, Degale was up massively so decided to take his foot off gas and not got hit with anything silly, then when he was told he had to go again he did and won the last 1.

Degale vs Groves at Wembley next summer, potentially a unification. Ill have some of that

Degale is the most underrated fighter we have. Dirrell in a tricky boxer to pin down and he beat him more concincingly than froch did, in America.

Hed beat both Froch and Groves imo.

Lets be honest, dirrell wasnt the same fighter that fought Froch 5 years ago. Looked a lot slower and his reflexes aren't there like they used to.
