now that perez got a draw against takam(i thought perez lost)....a loss against bryant jennings (i had jennings up by 1 point ..1 point deduction a joke should have been a draw)....and now perez getting iced in 1 rd by alexander povetkin shout mike perez hang up his gloves and do something else with his life??????? or take 3 months off fight 2 stiffs and try and get another payday against helinius who needs a name ...bryant jennings who just lost to wlad needs another name on his resume if he fights again ...anyway your thoughts ..:smoke

He's journeyman from now on. But when Perez is in shape, he's tough opponet to anyone. I expect him to take a few money fights and then retire, maybe they feed him to Anthony Joshua later this year.

    Not retire.....hell, he's only 29.

A couple of tough fights, but he could get busier fighting lower top 100 opposition and rebuild.

Potvetkin caught him cold and iced him.

Someone like Hammer or Petkovic wouldnt.

Those are the fights he should look to make.

Get some confidence building stay busy type fights, feed his family, and make another run later down the road when the dust settles on this L.:good

He'll be a stepping stone from now on. Money to be made as a stepping stone but not a great way to live.

Mike Perez has never recovered mentally from the Abdusalamov fight. I watched some of his early fights and he just was a beast back then. He should quit boxing for a year or two to recover mentally and get back in shape after that.He is still a top 10 contender.

If he actually dedicated himself, he could still do something.

Then again, he is a Cuban heavyweight...

I would like to hear what Perez has to say. He was a sore loser and stormed out of the ring to the back before even Povetkin was announced the winner. And I haven't heard Perez make any statement since the fight.

He showed very poor sportsmenship imo. Im glad he got his ass destroyed and humiliated.

Just because he got beat by some good opponents doesn't mean he should retire. Just has to step down a few levels and rebuild. He's 29 not 39. Not everyone can be a top 10 fighter but he can still make some decent money in boxing.

    Nope.

I want to see him fight Fury for the Irish HW title, once Wlad is done with him.
2 healthy born and bread Irish lads battling it out for national heavyweight glory :yep

Funny that when ANY Cuban HW is the topic, this sentence prefaces anything else.
