The unpopularity of Carl Froch

I was going to mention that but thought, no point getting into a verbal with the Calzaghe faithful.

At the end of the day, if there were 2 boxing DVDS on sale, 'Calzaghes greatest hits' and 'Frochs greatest hits', i know which one id buy (and get my moneys worth)

One of Calzaghes best wins was Eubank and then Lacey, these two fights are seperated by a whole decade.

How can you possibly go a decade between two major fights and fight nobody of note in between? please dont tell me everyone under the sun ducked Calzaghe. Calzaghe made no effort to make the fights and certainly didnt move up to get the big fights.

Compare Calzaghe to Lewis, both fought and beat the best fighters of their eras when they were past it. Difference is Lewis was still on the world scene fighting the other big names out there like Ruddock, Tua, Mercer, Morrison etc etc, meanwhile Calzaghe was at home beating up welsh miners and latvian toilet cleaners and african cab drivers.

Also people forget, Lacy was built up so much prior to their fight, why? because Calzaghe was seen as a ****ing joke thats why. Calzaghe was seen as a joke who would be beaten by another lesser joke.

I find it hard to believe that the guy who fought Hopkins, Toney, and Tarver was ducking the guy fighting Veit, Pudwill and Saibot

 

Post all you want fan boy, im not a fan nor a hater of Froch.

Having said that you seem to be the one aking excuses for him going life and death with Taylor who whilst a very good fighter in his own right was beaten much more convincgly by both Pavlik and Abraham.

Froch is a very good fighter but he struglles whenever he steps up to the level people like you try to claim hes above. His resolve and grit is what gets him through.

A good friend of mine, huge Calzaghe fan - he bought tickets to a sportsman dinner with him.

I warned him that I'd heard others say Joe wasn't a particulary nice bloke, very arrogant and not engaging and he was like "Super Joe is the main man, I will be excited just to share a venue with him."

Caught up with him after, he said "I hate to admit it, but you were right. Gone right off the bloke." and had apparently been fairly rude and disinterested in the whole affair.

He went to a Froch dinner just after xmas up north (sheff?), again went with preconception he was a ****, I think he mainly went cos it was a benefit dinner or something. Afterwards said he was one of the soundest people he met, had a proper long chat with him and his mate. Later on came over to him in the car park, had a craic with him about finding the ticket machine or something and posed for some more pics on his camera phone.

With regards this twitter beef - it's because joe is a bit of git and i think he gets plastered a lot before tweeting. He's got less followers than Eddie Hearn, half that of Froch and a quarter of Hayes.

Whereas Froch has about £18 million in the bank now apparently, he's probably got less than £1m.

All those nice welsh tweets say "Your the best Joe, you'd whup Froch" - well those tweets dont pay the bills do they?

He moaned about Froch not selling a telephone box, when Froch was doing nearly 10,000 on a friday fight night on sky - whilst he fought evans ashira, manfredo and an unknown former middleweight called bika. He even rematched a guy he beat in a single round, yet couldn't fight his countryman whom the whole boxing world wanted to see.

Good fighter but a Charlatan. It was always about him, never what the fans wanted from him.

 

Froch is the most arrogant of boxers.
