Denis Shafikov: Djingis Khan The Marauder Of Miass-The Bashkort Lightweight Wildman.

Denis Shafikov is a 5'5 29 year old Lightweight with a 35-1-1 19 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Miass Russia. Denis calls himself Djingis Khan the Russian spelling of Genghis Khan because he says he wants to conquer the Boxing World, not because he's Mongolian, he's a member of the Bashkir people who are an indigenous group who live near the Ural Mountains in Russia in the Republic of Bashkortostan, however he was raised in Miass which is a part of Chelyabinsk Oblast near where Kovalev comes from. Shafikov to his credit fights like Genghis Khan, he never stops coming, he seems to have an iron chin and an unbreakable will. He fights in a similar fashion to Provodnikov and Gradovich which worked for him up until he faced Miguel Vasquez, who he followed around the ring swinging wildly at and of course was easily UD'd by Mr Excitement Vasquez. But instead of sticking to his ways and not fixing his imperfections he went to the Wild Card Gym looking for some help, and his first match back against Nugaev the improvement to immediately noticeable as he intelligently brokedown and absolutely ravaged poor Rustam leading to the cuts TKO stoppage. Shafikov after improving under the tutelage of Roach protégé Ernie Zavala, has now gone on to train in Big Bear for the Bey match with Abel Sanchez.
