Did it to ****ell too. He was a animal in the ring and a gentleman outside. Most of the Greats utilised some form of dirty fighting. Some were just worse than others.

Terry Norris was habitual at nailing them when down.

Marciano was known as a dirty fighter. He committed every foul imaginable.
He responded to this by saying that in the heat of the battle, he honestly didn't realize he was doing the things he did.
    Maybe. Maybe not.

I always like Nigel Benn's response when ask why he hit Iran Barkley when Barkley was down, "because he was trying to get up".

Tyson was bad for hitting after the bell, didn't like it when Holyfield returned the favour though.

Roger Mayweather did it a few times, most notably after flooring Whitaker.

Louis was clean for the most part, but he had his share of fouls too.

In the first Scheming match late in ( when he was fading away ) Louis belted Scheming below the belt, and Scheming went down. Judging by the circumstances, this foul could have been intentional. Louis did apologize.

The ref Donovan said the low blows of Louis did not hurt Schmeling. As I said before, Donovan was a little cozy with Joe Louis management, so take this comment with a grain of salt. The low blows hurt Schmeling Watch the film.
